I always heard the name, but never got into his music. But I've been listening for two days now. It seems his type of music changed over the years. I've been listening to the early stuff and it's rather bluesy. Very nice. RIP, Mr. Beck.

His music isn't for everyone, but he has a lot of devoted fans and his music changed every time he went into the studio to record, throughout his solo career. If you listen to his music chronologically, you can hear this even if you only listen to a couple of songs from each record. Then, there are the many recordings he made on records for others, like Tina Turner, David Gilmour, Mick Jagger and so many others- the link has a list at the bottom.

Beck, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton all played in the Yardbirds, but Beck was the only one of the three who didn't pollute himself with Heroin and has constantly found something in new music and young, talented musicians for his bands. He recorded on Ozzy Osbourne's latest, just last year.

Got any sources? I doubt his wife would have stood for that and as soon as she left his group, she was touring with Herbie Hancock & others, writing music for her own band and touring with that, opening for The Who on her first outing. Never seen her pregnant, never heard about this and it would be a great way to put a roadblock in her path.

Just saw a few things a search brought up, read one and was based on vague gossip. I don't know whether they ever took their relationship beyond the stage, they obviously admired each other quite a bit, tho. I don't know much about Jeff or his wife, seemed they preferred to keep private life private...

Which part, Beck's comments, or the one who was talking about him? I skipped around in this and several other videos with something like "Tragic details before his death' in the title, but have seen nothing from him that indicated an upcoming medical problem.

I have bitten on many of those videos with the same commentator, but different YouTube user name. It annoys the crap out of me when something I actually want to hear is just click bait. I also don't like that on Roku, in particular, the titles are truncated in the YouTube pages showing the available videos.

I read a mid-'70s interview in Guitar Player and he said that he didn't use a pick, that he had mastered the 'trickery' on guitar. At the time, I took as him being a bit arrogant, even though I had heard Yardbirds, some of his late-'60s music and all of Blow By Blow & Wired. I had his 'Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop' and didn't really like it until about a day before I went to see him sometime between '06 and '10. After hearing it again, I asked my self "What's not to like?". That show was in a relatively small-ish place with an oval, domed ceiling- that should have made it an acoustical nightmare, but the sound was excellent.

I'm not sure if this is hitting me the way it is because it was so sudden or because I have been watching so many videos with music I hadn't heard before.

His wife is in the Music & Cars video we posted- possibly part II, but I know he talked about her and she was in it. He definitely was more private than many celebrities.

Fender Musical Instruments had this version as the music when callers were on hold for several years. This was recorded more than 20 years ago, but Greg is a huge Jeff Beck fan and I think it does the song justice.

If you watch the Rock'n Roll Party video, he did use a pick in the first track, but he had found a way to hold his thumb & index finger together, using his index fingernail as the pick. Using the pick & fingers is typically called 'hybrid picking' and was mainly developed by Merle Travis and Chet Atkins.

I’ll be honest prior to reading this post, I was not aware of him. I’ve been listening to him for the past hour and a half. WOW!! I should’ve been in bed a while ago, but he’s an incredible artist.
Started with Blow by Blow and now Wired, which is in Dolby Audio through Apple Music (5.1). Just amazing. I have more exploring to do of Mr. Beck’s music, just not tonight.

I would highly recommend Jeff Beck Live At Ronnie Scott's. Beck only played with the best musicians, in this case he is playing with Tal Wilkenfeld (Bass), Vinnie Colaiuta (Drums), and Jason Rebello (Keyboards). Cameo's sit in's with Eric Clapton, Imogene Heap, Joss Stone.
