A Few Questions

I am looking into purchasing a whole new audio and video entertainment system. I think I have the speakers nailed down to Paradigm monitor 5 series, center cc-370 and sub ps-1200 series or PW 2200.

I am stuck on the reciever between a Sony STR-DA5000ES and a comperable DENON.
I would like imput on the reciever choice and if the speaker choice is a good one.

the speakers you have choosen are great, i have the monitor 7's with the cc370 and love them. As for the receiver, I have not heard sony, but from what i have read here, denon is preferred, and a great match with paradigm. Also consider yamaha, as they match well with paradigm. I personally like the sound better on the yamaha than the denon, but just my opinion, although i think the denon is cleaner sounding.

I'm leaning more towards a Denon or a Yamaha now.

Now to figure out what one to go for in the 1500 dollar mark is the Problem now.

You won't go wrong with either. Check them out for yourself, and pick the one YOU like the best. It's your money dude.
