A few pics...

Hi all, I thought I would share some pictures of my current home theatre set up...

The room is a little strange, so I had to set the fronts (Boston VR-M60s) up kinda funky-one speaker is out about a foot more than the other, and the center (Boston VR10) pretty high. Any advice/input is welcome as to how to obtain more symmetry up front.

View from the couch-my little blue heeler pup always has to be the center of attention:

Tough space to set up an AV center in. I would try placing the tv and the center channel on the bar. Leave the left and right speaker where they are. Move the center channel below the Tv on the bar stand.

Agreed. Tough wall. If the TV isn't too wide, I'd wall mount it on that wall above the bar, place the center on the bar, and find a better spot for the right speaker. Unfortunately, it looks like the TV might be a bit too big for that spot on the wall between the nook and door. In the current setup I'd pull that right speaker all the way to the front edge of the shelf as it is currently reflecting off the top and bottom of the shelf.

No dice there, unfortunately. I considered that before purchasing the TV last year, but was then left with a large, empty nook. I guess books, etc. could fill the space, but it would be a pretty large void. And now I have a TV that is far too wide for that wall above the bar. In hindsight maybe I should have gone for a smaller TV, but at the time of purchase the significant other's mindset was, "if we are going to do it we might as well go as big as possible." I felt it was imperative to take advantage of that greenlight.

Thanks! I honestly can't remember. I racked my brain trying to thing of something on which to set that speaker that would the same height as the base shelf in the nook. I was pretty deadset on installing a floating shelf just for it when I saw that light for $30 or $40 while walking through Target one day. The measurements were nearly perfect for height and it seemed to be made to hold a VR-M60, so I went for it. This was a year or so ago, but next time I am at Target I will see if they still have them and let you know.

Guess I should have just replied all in one post...sorry! Unfortunately that right speaker is as forward as it can be as there is a lip from coming down from the TV shelf that stops it.

I kind of feel like my hands are tied in this room. Guess we'd better move.

Thanks! I got very lucky and found her up for adoption when she was 7 weeks old. I now am sold on the breed and doubt I will ever own any dog other than an Australian Cattle Dog. At 4 months she is easily the most well behaved, well trained dog I have ever had. She is just a sponge for information and seems to understand English. I am convinced she will explain relativity to me any day now.

Is the center speaker tilted down? My fronts are above my tv, I angled them downward using a laser pointer for reference and it made a world of difference.

Not at the moment. It is just toed in a little. I honestly, and stupidly, hadn't thought of tilting it down until you just mentioned it. Is there anything specific to use for angling it, or is it just a matter of placing something under the back (like coasters under an uneven table)??

Auralex MoPads. They give you a few degrees and some adjustability by using multiples together and have a lip so the speaker won't slide off.

I just found a pretty good deal on a pair of surrounds that have the same tweeter as my fronts, and center, so jumped on them. I have been thinking for a while about shifting where the rear speakers are located and am hoping to get some opinions on the matter. The rears I have now are at just above ear level and are facing directly forward. I am considering mounting the new speakers up higher and on a directional bracket so I can toe them in a bit. Thoughts?
