a and b amp power

on a Yamaha amp i was looking at it has a and b front speaker outputs. now is the speaker wattage the same for both a and b. can you use both at once or just one at a time. also on the receiver below why are there 2 different types of speaker connectors. is one better than the other.

Same power amp section but most people never use Sp B, so they don't put much into the terminals.

You can use both at the same time, but given the fact that they will be running in parallel with each other, running even high efficiency speakers increases the risk of clipping the that receiver's amp causing damage to the speakers.

Read the print in the area of the speaker terminals. It tells you what you need, including read the manual.

But i'm also planing on connecting the zone B, only I want to connect only speaker. Now here is the silly part.

Is it possible to connect both left and right to the same speaker binding post?

Not recommended. You may let the magic smoke out of your receiver.

I meant to say only one speaker.

And I should stay away from the magic smoke, right?

I have to see if I can put the balance on the Zone B to one side. That is if that option is available.
