I'd plug them directly into an outlet... surely you have better things to do than spread this nonsense here... have fun in ban-land...

Welcome to the forum!

Which speakers did you get? Knowing that, we can help you out better.

Pardon the noob question...I assume there is no such thing as a 9000 watt speaker, and him wasting people's time here is why he may be banned. Is this correct?

If so, why would anyone post something like this? I may be missing something obvious.

Has anyone considered that the OP may just be uninformed and really believe he bought '9000 watt' speakers?

We'll have to wait and see before concluding that it is an attempt at spam or trolling...

Yep. That's why I asked what speakers they were.

So many cynics around here. :D

It isn't that there is no such thing as "9000w" speakers, but really the wattage rating on a speaker is practically meaningless as is made clear here. Passive speakers don't need a power rating because they have no power. Generally the rating is intended to give the user a maximum level of actual power that components of a speaker can handle before damage occurs, however the reality is, you don't NEED that much power to drive a given speaker in most cases.

Did you find any 9000w amps? Maybe THIS would work?
They are "car audio" watts... which are computed much the same way "remaining oil reserves" seem to be computed: by inventing ever higher arbitrary numbers.

No point offering up an amp with 900 real watts. :)

Some companies show actual power specs, not just WLS or JBF ratings. Granted, not all of them do this but many do. Unfortunately, many of them omit the 14.4VDC that makes such a big difference.

I worked with a guy whose usual response when someone would ask whether a speaker would handle some ridiculous amount of power was "500 Watts? Sure, it'll handle 500 Watts. Once".
