the total for 2 tires/parts/labor and alignment is roughly $660. ($425 of that is 2 tires) Believe it or not...I am VERY HAPPY!!

That's not bad at all, considering most of that is for the tires.

Just curious; how did you get the car off the loading dock?

Eagle GTs are no better than Conti ExtremeContactDWS, but they are more expensive.

Blah... just realized I wasted my 1,000th post... oh well. ;)

My preference is Bridgestone. I run RE760s on my daily driver, and have run 730s, 750s and S-02s. All of them excellent tires IMO. NO tire really has ever lasted me more than a year, some a lot less, but tires are one of the most critical aspects of your car's capabilities period. Good tires are worth it. Maintaining proper pressures, regular checking and rotation are very important, especially the more you drive. I dropped $1G for tires for the truck a few weeks back. Made a world of difference going from the crappy ones that were on there.

If a tow truck pulled it off it could have done as much damage as driving off the dock did.

I'd probably not claim it on insurance, depending on your deductable it probably isn't worth having it in their records.

Alignment should have been the first thing checked after getting it off the dock. My daughter drove up on a curb when I was teaching her to drive yars back and I didn't think it was that bad but I noticed it was pulling. I took it in and it was pretty far out of spec.

A tow truck approached at a 45degree angle from the drivers side and extended his T-bar "grabber thing". He was able to turn it to connect to the rear.....he was able to make a secure grab.....he lifted.....and pushed the car forward.

PS
I FINALLY got my car back just yesterday!!!! (it was in the shop for at least 8 days)

The total bill was $1K...but only because I wanted to get some regular maintenance things done while it was in the shop.

I am very happy...................... in the end..no biggie. Plus I had maintenance done so I'm good to go for another 50k miles....LOL.

Yea.....it took considerable effort for the tow truck drivers part to reach & grab securely so he could lift it off. He may have damaged it..........I was cringing as I watched the entire process.

...and no, I never once considered the insurance claim option. For a stupid incident like this on my part, I planned to pay out of pocket all along.

Pretty soon Seth is gonna show up demanding to know WTF is going on here.

Maybe we could try to roll a little religion into this thread to go with the gay sex and politics for a speedy closing like the rest of poor Buckeye's threads. :D

I seriously want to know about the car. I don't know why except that I maybe like cars. For the most part cars like me too. :)
Let's see..... $800 in rubbers for 4 months, religion, gay sex, politics, Audioholics and innuendos of mounting described by a Impala SS stuck over a loading dock..... WTF?

All this thread needs now is some bi-wiring (buy-wiring or bye-wiring) and we'll be set! :D

It's all good...

The car is back to normal.....and I got my first speeding ticket in 10yrs today. I got nabbed doing 60 in a 45........

I thought it was cheap one too!! I was driving in a 65zone and didn't slow down quick enough when it changed to a 45. MF"Rs........If I get a ticket G'Dammit, I want to earn it!!
(like going 130 in a 55 or somthin') ...just saying.

I respect the cops and all, but waiting behind a sign when the limit changes from 65-45 is cheap BS......IMO. 99% of the time I am very careful and I am not a speed demon.....I guess today was a slip-up. I couldn't care less about the fine, but the 2pts pisses me off.

Rant off...

Let me guess.. you were driving through Lawtey, FL, right? It IS very f'd up over there, with the local cops running blatant speed traps, just waiting. I have to exercise precision driving and alertness to get through Lawtey on my way to Inverness. What a racket..
Sorry to hear you got trapped in that web of cops.
