I am in the market for a new receiver.......I just wanted to throw it out to any and all members. My budget is in the $700 range. It will be connected to a Samsung 52" LCD, Directv, and Sony Blu-ray player....I would like to hear what receivers you recommend....I guess I'm asking what will give me the most bang for my buck..............Thanks to all in advance...:)

Any marantz, onkyo, HK, yamaha, or denon should work wonders.

I suggest the Onkyo 705 if you can find it anywhere. Lots of nice features and it's pretty inexpensive.

It would also be helpful to know which speakers you're running, what features you're interested in, room size, listening level, etc...?

agreed, i love pioneer
and I won't be caught dead with one. Kind of strange how luck works out for some folks. But they still make pretty good receivers. Though in recent years they and Onkyo have been nerfing the amp section.

had a pioneer 9130 and had a onkyo 806. its onkyo hands down for me.

but if i were u i would get a harman kardon.

ps dont be scared when u see h/k's 75 watts compared to pioneer's 110 watts, h/k is still louder imo. pioneer sounded naked.

I wouldn't say that and I own an HK.

HK's are buggy as hell. The amp section is probably the most robust of the major brands, but at the cost of software problems. :(

The Onkyo is the best for features I've had, but sometimes it's the deal you get.

Onkyo is great when it comes to features and price but I am talking about sound. With my speakers HK was the best for me. I had the 247 and loved it. And with the 354 did the update online and it has been perfect so far, hope I don't curse it. Lol.
