In 7 channel stereo mode (yamaha rxv1500) is the signal that is coming out of the front center channel just a mono of the front left and front right?

Thanks

Remember, 7ch stereo is designed to be used at a low volume, such as background noise for a party. An adult party, not a booming house party.

I have a 5.1 system, and that's how I use it--for party music. For my serious listening I use 2.1.

Apparently you haven't been to any of my parties ;) I'm an adult, and they DEFINITELY boom from time to time :D

I am a big 7-channel stereo guy and I can push it with my SC-05 with no problems. So I say party on!!

LOL--we've had those parties, too. Post-midnight dancing, conga lines, you name it. Sigh...haven't had a blow-out in several years, though. :(

Chris

P.S. Don't ask about the late-1990s party when we had the music blasting and some people were standing on the backyard picnic table dancing semi-nak...er...never mind. :D

P.P.S. I know you from the av123 forum (I use the same nick there), and I know you love to post "this thread is useless without pics." Well, there are pics from this party, including pics of the late-night picnic table dancing. Sorry, they won't be posted online. Invite us to one of your blow-out parties one day, and we can bring the pics. :p LOL--too bad we're three time zones away!

Exactly! We have MANY of those pics too. I did post a few of them on our forum back in the day but no more now that I'm an employee. House parties are my kinda dig and I have people over as often as possible to chill. It always is more fun at 2 am with a trance beat (or whatever music happens to have been shoved in my system at the time) blasting with some good friends.

An yes, I brought over the nopics icon from another forum I used to frequent :D

Back, OT, the center channel in 7 channel surround (as Mike said) is generally just a summed left and right.

Oh, and Chris, feel free to email me any pics you feel are fun

Our music collection has all kinds of music, including trance, though we don't listen to it often. A blow-out party would be a good excuse!

I don't know that I saw any of your party pics, but I remember when your wife and you posted pics of her. She's lovely, BTW. My gf isn't so bad, either. :p And if you saw the party pics....... :D

I'll PM you with my email addy. We don't have to exchange pics, but you're welcome to write to me any time. :)

BTW, we visited friends in your part of the country about seven years ago. Unfortunately, they now live in St. Louis. But we'd love to visit Oregon and Washington again. Maybe some year we can meet. If not where you are, maybe at an av123 GTG.

Oops, I can't send you a PM from here. Maybe you don't have that option on, or maybe it's because you have few posts here. No problem. I'll PM you when the av123 forum is back up, OK?

Feel free to PM me here, if you can.

Yeah, dunno why it isn't on but my email is scott@av123.com

I try to get to as many GTG's as I can, it's more of a matter of convincing MLS to pay for my trip :D
