7 channel amp question

I have an Outlaw 770 7 channel amp.
I am using a Yamaha RX-V2200 (6.1 channel) as a pre-amp only.
I'm only using 6 of the 7 channels on the amp.
Is this in any way harmfull to the 7 channel amp?

Nope..............the last channel will just sit there and do nothing.

Just an idea, but you could always use it for a second center channel.

If you're not going to use it, might want to pick the center amp to break up the heat sources.

I had the same thoughts, but was not sure.
I have two center channel speakers.
One is an Infinity Beta c360 and the other an Infinity IL25c.
I will give your suggestion a whirl, when time permits.
