Hi, i got a set of Creative Inspire TT7700 7.1 Surround sound speakers today, put them up, plugged it into the computer (creative soundblaster live 7.1) and ran the surround tests, all the speakers work on the front right, front centre ect ect test.

however when i play the dolby surround tests, such as the air raid one, or the dinasour one i cant hear anything from the side of rear speakers.... same with music, its all from the front 3 and the woofer.

do i need to enable surround on windows media player, or do i need a special program i dont h ave?

Thanks.

I have the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum with a 5.1 speaker setup.
My rears didn't work until I went into the Audigy software to the speaker settings, and clicked on "Calibrate" and setup the speakers in there. Also I had a place to choose stereo, 4.1, 5.1, 6.1, 7.1, in the software. Once I calibrated, all was fine.
Good luck! Let us know how it goes............ :)

Oh yeah, almost forgot. You MUST have a dvd player that supports DD and/or DTS surround, for movies. I haven't found any free ones. WinDVD is the one I ended up with. You can get it here: http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/WinDVD_Profile.jsp You can download a 21 day free trial. Your software probably included a player for dvd-audio music?

Hi, it turns out it was working all along - i just dident have any surround sound media (proper stuff) to test it with, and since i found some strange latin music on the microsoft site, its working fine. I have also worked out how to duplicate the sound from the front speaker to the other 2 on each side, so now even when i listen to music it sounds surroundie.

Thanks :)

Good for you.
Feels good when you figure it out yourself, huh?
