I am setting up my ht and am wondering where should I place the side and rear surrounds. I am using bipole speakers (paradigm 370's). The catch is they have to be mounted on the side walls. The rear wall is about 30' away from the listening postion with no room to mount a speaker. Should I place the side surrounds slightly ahead of my listening postion with the rear surrounds behind my postion?

Thanks

I didn't see this before I posted. I am in a similar boat. I hopw somebody answers one of us at least! I may just try it. If it sounds like crap, I will use the other two speakers for zone 2 and go 5.1.

Rear speakers have to be well behind you. If putting them in the rear corners puts them very substantially behind you, that might work. Otherwise, suspend them from the ceiling or put them up on stands on the floor.

Surrounds should be even with you or a bit behind, and ideally firing over the heads of the audience.
