Hi,

Im thinking of purchasing a new tv. What is the best overall 60" 1080p display on the market today. So far I have been looking at the sony 60" SXRD rear projection but I dont think that it accepts 1080p through HDMI.

Much Appreciated,
Thomas.

I'm told that the new 60 and 70" models with 1080p inputs will be out in september.

The newest Sony SXRD displays accept 1080p over HDMI. Last years models do not.

I live in Canada and so far the new sony XBR2s aren't listed on the sonystyle website (canadian). Does anyone have any idea when they will be available in Canada.

Not sure about distribution in Canada, but Brillian's 60" model accepts 1080p. When Sony got into the LCoS (read SXRD) market, they partnered with Brillian for the engines. Not sure what the relationship between the 2 is now. The picture on the Brillian set is awesome.

the sony s2000 is out now and accepts 1080p over hdmi. 60" is the max size in that product line, and i know they are out because my best buy has them, and minnesota is always the last place to get new technologies it seems... Supposedly the s2000 is a step down from the new xbr2's, but im not sure of the comparison between the s2000's and last year's xbr1's.
