i have a pair of genexxa gx 400 bookshelf speakers with an input of 6 ohms.can they be run safely alone or paired with 8 ohm speakers on my various 8 ohm receivers?i have a sanyo dcx 2000k (circa 1975), a pioneer sx 780(1979) that i got at a yard sale for 25$, and a sony str av 370.the pioneer is near mint, and the sanyo i inherited from my brother when i was in grade 10 and is a prized posession .

The rating of 6 ohms is a nominal, average rating. The actual # may vary from a bit lower to higher. So long as it doesn't dip much below 3 or 4 ohms very often, most receivers rated for nominal 8 ohms will work just fine.
