6.1 center channel for rear speaker?

I was just wondering if the middle rear speaker the 6th I guess you could call it should be another center channel speaker of just another bookshelf speaker like the surrounds. I didnt know if it did surround duty or just did alot of dialouge like the front center. I currently have a 5.1 and thought that I would get an extra speaker and I'm just looking for suggestions. Thank you.

Getting an additional bookshelf should be fine. I don't think a center channel is wanted but it will work fine if that's what you choose to purchase.

It's just another surround speaker, nothing special.
