Why Bestbuy? Your money would go further at accessories4less, or amazon, or newegg, a dozen other places on the internet. Even with an employee discount.

I’m guessing he got a line of credit at BB.

Well, if it must be BB then try and find a Yamaha, Denon or Pioneer Elite with second zone capability. For a BD player, hard to beat the Panasonic BD60. Display - Panasonic TC-P54S1.
Speakers, well…that’s a bit tougher, because we all like different thins about different speakers. Def Tech, Klipsch, Mirage, Martin Logan…all brands BB carries, so listen to a lot of different things and decide what best fits your budget.

Unless bestbuy is an absolute must, check this place out for the TV. Free shipping and awesome customer service. http://www.us-appliance.com/samsunghdtvs.html. And check this place out for your receiver. This is the one I'm getting but they have all brands and receivers for all applications. http://hdtvdreams.com/denon-avr-889-7-1-channel-home-theater-receiver-avr889.aspx
Non-authorized dealer = no warranty. I wouldn't buy a Denon or any piece of electronics from a non-authorized dealer.

Panasonic Plasma TC-P54S1
Yamaha RX-V665 receiver
Pioneer VSX-1019AH

The in-walls from BB don’t look promising except maybe the SpeakerCrafts (Magnolia) but then you’d have to find a center to match.

I also would not purchase a sub from BB.

Yea sorry about that pat, I didn't realize they weren't an authorized dealer. They say supposedly that most of their items come with full manufactures warranty.

Some manufacturers may cover equipment sold by non-authorized sellers but I know that Denon doesn't.

For the TV go plasma and get a nice one too. Panasonic or Kuro.

BB has a wide selection of receivers. Just avoid Sony they tend to have flakey receivers.

Make sure you get a blu-ray player

Then for speakers check out the home theater room. Listen around you should be able to come up with something decent. Avoid Bose. It's a really bad deal.

Definitely go to a best buy with a magnolia store, then look at Yamaha, Denon, or Pioneer Elite for a receiver, and for speakers and sub., Def Tech, Klipsh, or Martin Logan, maybe even Mirage or Vienna Acoustics, for a tv, Pioneer or Panasonic Plasmas are good, or if you want an LCD I really like the Sharp Aquos, or Samsung units, sony tv's are nice too, but I don't like SONY, so I try not to support them, but I will reccomend a PS3 for a blu ray player since it plays almost everything and updating it is a piece of cake since it has wireless and a gigabit ethernet port.

$5000 at Best Buy? I hope I don't sound arrogant to ask you if you are willing to toss your $ into the ocean.

Go to BestBuy ONLY TO LISTEN TO THEM. Those guys will sell you whatever you like without an AV opinion. High school graduates taught selling in a classroom.
They do not know much besides pushing the latest technology. I'd buy from an internet retailer like onecall(I saved $350 on my Yamaha/Home Theater speakers), Crutchfield(if they negotiate). Study there, graduate somewhere else!

You will afford $6000 worth of stuff for $5k. Also they will sell you monster cables...$40 a pop!

I'm not sure if I can agree with this post. Hes here asking for advice so he's on the right track. If he wants equipment that he can get there, I say go for it. If he wants more for his money, then ID options are great. Don't buy monster or bose and you'll survive. You also have handy return and finance options with BB..

hey guys, sorry ive been away, realy busy right now, work, new baby, honey do's you get the point right.:)
Thanks for commenting on my post, BB would be great for the convenience, its going to be credit. Yes, just like everything else, i could get more bang for my buck online or elsewhere.
Buying online, not to crazy about it, i want to speak to someone face to face when somthing goes wrong with the equipment, or just any question in general.
So if you guys could recomend some equipment that BB has, it would realy help me out. Those of you that have, thanks abunch.

Thanks

Best Buy is a cool place and for many of us it is a safe place to go when your women is shopping for a new wardrobe. I can understand people being upset about their realistic business practices, but let's not forget high schoolers aren't exactly technological morons anymore. I could code in high school and built computers myself. So to act like anyone working at best buy is an instant moron is just stupid and not fair. It's a retail job for crying out loud. Few engineering level minds will ever do sales so to expect people of that knowledge to sell you something is just silly.

Sorry for my rant but I worked retail for 5 years. It's a first job remember that so take it easy on the kids.

I will warn you that the customer service isn't what it used to be at best buy. They have a much weaker tech support staff than they had about 10 years ago. If you want a safe place I think Amazon or Crutchfield are as good as it gets. Better than Best Buy for sure. They both rated the top retailers for electronics somewhere I dont' remember the magazine though.

Amazon does credit as well so it's certainly an option to look at. I understand the desire to get stuff that day though. :)

People above already gave good recommendations. Still order your connector needs from monoprice.com. It will save you a lot of cash.

You may be able to obtain/order the Def Tech UIW-75/55s & CLR-2002 or ProCenter 2000 through BB/Magnolia. You could also go through Amazon.

In order to properly size a sub reco’, it would help to know the volume size of your space. You’ll definitely receiver better bang/$$:D by purchasing an ID sub.

Everyone has given sound advice.

The only other advice I can give you is to NEVER pay the full RETAIL price of anything you buy from Best Buy.

They should price match other authorized dealers like onecall, 6ave, J&R, crutchfield, amazon, etc.

For example, you should not pay more than $1,100 for the Denon AVr-3808CI.

I bought all my DefTech speakers from a local authorized dealer for 30% off MSRP.

My local dealer also price-matched on my 73" Mitsubishi (amazon.com) for $1,880.
