5.2.4 setup help

Hello everyone below is what I currently purchased and I also have a diagram of the room. The room is 20x15 but connected to an open kitchen at the back of the room so no wall space to put ear lvl rear speakers. I have 4 pre wired holes in the ceiling when they built the house (that are off centered from the middle of the room by 2 feet) the front ceiling holes sit about 3 feet in front of the couch and the rear about a foot behind.
My plan for the speaker setup is to use the two holes behind the couch for surround sound and the two holes in front of the couch for the other set of atmos speakers.

Here are my questions

1. Will a 5.2.4 work with the a90s firing at the ceiling and the other 2 atmos speakers firing down from the 2 middle holes?

2. I see the ideal setup is to have the 2 atmos speakers behind you in a 4 speaker setup. Will it greatly effect the Expericance with them in the front?

3. The 2 foot off set of the speaker holes to the center of the room is it worth having them moved into the exact correct position?

Wouldn’t worry about moving them 2’ but definitely would NOT use the back ones as surrounds. Atmos works because of the height differential. I would use all 4 in the ceiling for atmos and put the surrounds on stands, or in the side walls or use towers etc.

Thanks for the quick reply. The only option I have is to put them in the ceiling. There isn’t a wall there because of the kitchen and no room to put speakers on stands without blocking the walkway behind the couches. The reason I got the def tech di8r was because the tweeter moves.

Just for reference, the majority of in ceiling speakers have pivoting tweeters.

Could you put some on stands and move the couch ahead just a bit? This might split the difference between the walkway issue and having surrounds at a good height. You can also go directly to the sides of the couch at 90° too, although ideally they’d be slightly behind.

Edit: also ime amiable tweeters haven’t been that useful.

Lol. I can try and help the power(assume you mean speaker cable), but the wife is all yours lol. Just remind her the you live there too, so let’s be fair! My wife doesn’t like my gear all over the living room either but I pay the mortgage just as much as she does, so...

The only option I have is to put them in the ceiling.

If that is your only option, then I say it's okay.

The true test will be how they actually sound when you play the ATMOS demos. If it sounds great, then it is great.

My room is almost tha same size....but turned tha other way.
I bought the Onkyo TX-NR787...
My speakers are as follows..
x2 Klipsch R-820F (front)
x1 Klipsch R-R34C (center channel)
x2 Klipsch R-120SW (subs)
x1 Kilpsch R-51M ((pair) front high mount)
x1 Acoustic Audio SP-8c ((pair) in ceiling middle)
x2 Klipsch R-620F (surround)

i can barley hear the middle speakers when watching a movie with dolby vision & dolby atmos ??
my question is here is should i move the ceiling speakers to the back ?
if i do the will be right above the surround speakers !!!
