Interesting. One of the theaters nearby already has ScreenX. It adds side projectors. First one I have seen around here.

We got a ton of free tickets from her brother that we need to use by the end of Dec. so we are going to check it out on Tues. with Predator Badlands

Wouldn’t your neck get pretty tired of looking back and forth?

Predator Badlands looks like a fun movie. Both Prey and Badlands were written by the same screenwriter, so Badlands should be as good.

Frankenstein 2025 4K 1.85 Ratio Atmos streaming.

PQ. Excellent. Shot in 6.5K digital IMAX (1.85 ratio). Beautiful sceneries.

SQ. Very good, but not really an Atmos type movie.

Story. I like it overall. I love the Frankenstein monster because he was more like the hero of the story. But there were many plot holes that gave me face/palms and made me say, “What an idiot director!”.

But still, I like the movie and would rewatch this movie again.

Oh, it always helps to be in a good mood while watching this movie so you can forgive the idiotic plot holes. So while I was witnessing the plot holes, I was thinking to myself, “Man, I do love my shiny new Bryston 9B-cubed amps.

Is anybody watching IT: Welcome to Derry on HBO? So far, I think it's pretty good. I read they are going to be doing 2 more seasons, but in different time periods. I'm enjoying this prequel stuff to the recent IT movies.

I'm attempting to watch Witcher Season 4. Watched the first episode. Yikes, it's going to be brutal trying to watch the rest......

I saw Derry episodes 1 & 2. I think they tried way too hard to scare people, which I hate. So I won’t be watching Derry anymore.

I haven’t been able to even finish Witcher S04E01. It’s a brutal watch alright.

The series is set to go back into production in 2026 in London.

Predator Badlands was highly entertaining. Atmos was active the whole time, mainly ambience. The story is mostly what you'd expect from a predator movie. As an action film, it totally works. The characters are fun and there's one big easter egg that it tells you fairly early. Big and loud, worth it to watch in the theater. Solid popcorn flick.

**Edit - Based on the box office of this one, for sure there will be another. Highest rated and highest opening box office so far.

Screen X was pretty cool. The sides are a different, gray cloth, so the color doesn't match and they're dimmer. Some scenes you can see are just stretched, others expand out nicely. The effect can be an little distracting during big action scenes, but mostly works and definitely adds to the experience. I'll give it another try sometime. We sat in the upper area, which oddly, not everyone did. It wrapped to just about where we were. Worth experiencing at least once.

**edit - you can see at the top of the side walls, the two extra cameras. Something else I didn't mention, the side cameras have a slight delay at times, so they are using some algorithm to do the expansion. They have a visible, half second delay when the scene changes. That is very noticeable when the scene switches to a different view; like if someone is speaking and then it switches to show the other character, you can see a slight lag with the side images catching up.

Sounds like we have some time. Won't release until 2027. If you're a fan of the Dune series on HBO, I thought I saw that next season won't release until 2027. Haha, so with every show nowadays, the waiting game begins.

Well, at least they are renewed.

I heard that Predator Badlands helped move the sticks along for Alien Earth S02 w/ mostly good reviews and ratings. Hopefully Badlands will top $300 million worldwide.

I am pretty sure it was Badlands that helped nudge that decision too. There was some negotiation going on though, which may also be why it took so long. He was signed on not just for Alien Earth, but it seems he can create other content as well.

I saw it today, cheap Tuesday, $7.
Yes, audio powerful and a number of laughing places in it, almost like slapsticks.

Saw Zootopia on Thanksgiving. Good movie. Kids enjoyed it, so that's a win.

Watched 2 new movies on Netflix. A House of Dynamite and Train Dreams. Both were good. A House of Dynamite was intense. It's not Kathryn Bigelow's best, but it was entertaining. Cool to see inner workings of US Government when a major nuclear threat happens.

Train Dreams will not be for everyone. It is a very "artsy" type of film. Joel Edgerton does a fantastic job in the lead. Has some really good supporting cast throughout. Beautiful cinematography. It's also a very sad movie. It's not a long movie at 1 hour and 43 mins. I would recommend it to everyone.

Was a busy holiday weekend working on the house and having guests, so we didn't watch much. Still watching Stranger Things S5, only the last episode to go.

Today The Killer 4K arrives. It says Tron Legacy arrives tomorrow.

Wife and I finished the first 4 of Stranger things S5. It's going alright so far.

I did see The Killer was coming today. Have never seen it. Looks fun!

You're just getting your Tron copy now? dang. Disney really screwed the pooch on that release. They should've easily had enough copies on hand.

The Roses 4K. I stopped after about 45 minutes. Just couldn't take it either.

I did finish watching The Craft 4K, Rambo First Blood 4K, Rambo First Blood Part 2 4K. I heard their 4K versions look great. Well, I do think they look much better than their older versions. But the fact is, none of these older movies look as awesome as any of the newer movies on a 150"+ screen when every single grain is magnified on 5,000 Lumen.

Legacy actually shows as delivered today, so I will check it out first But will also check out Ares.

I tried watching a few 4K movies.

That is how I felt about Hard Boiled and probably The Killer also. They're old and not super restored, so they look better, but still look their age.

Yes, that was a long wait. I preordered it in Sept for that Sept. release. Tron only came about 2 weeks ago too.

The Killer is dated, but is classic John Woo. Between Hard Boiled and The Killer, The Killer is better. SO MANY action movies referenced parts of those films.

I saw TRON Ares 4K ATMOS last night.

PQ. Looks great. Shot with 8K resolution V-Raptor Digital. But the Retro-TRON animation scenes look like pathetic cartoon. I thought I was watching some old TRON cartoons. I guess that's the effect they were going for - taking us back to the 80's. No thanks.

SQ. Sounds great. Heard plenty of overhead ATMOS sounds and great bass.

Story/Writing. I was disappointed. It felt lazy and Disney-like. I think some parts are just pathetic.

My impression - feels like a bad dream. Disney is stupid as usual. I feel like the TRON franchise is doomed unless somehow Joseph Kosinski or somebody really good can convince stupid Disney to let them make the next TRON movie.

For me personally, I'll just pretend like the only TRON movie ever made was TRON Legacy and forget about the other 2 - DELETE.
