I have a Yamaha z11 which is not 3d ready and Mitsubishi ready wd73883 which requires one of their adapters. But the problems is hdmi1.4 and hdmi 1.3 don't mix. Is there a converter out there to let the hd audio into the receiver I have now? I don't plan on changing my yamaha any time soon. any suggestions?confused::(

Are you trying to use the 3D or no? Last I checked 1.4 was backwards compatible with 1.3. It should work like a standard set up as long as you're not using the 3D ability on your TV.

If you're trying to use the 3D still on the TV, I don't believe you'll be able to get anything out of your receiver. You could try running separate audio from either the TV or the source to the receiver. I don't know if that would work, someone with more experience with 3D will have to answer that.

The key is to use a 3D player with dual HDMI outputs, 1 for audio, 1 for video.

Or perhaps try one of the HDMI splitters from Monoprice on the Blu-ray player if it only has one HDMI output. Send one feed with your HD audio to the receiver, then send the video feed to your TV.

How would this work? Wouldn't an HDMI splitter just send the same hdmi 1.4 signal out twice, which the receiver won't be able to use. While a blu-ray player that have dual hdmi the 2nd one just send an audio signal out.

I really don't know the answer so I know this statement seems like it coming across dickish when I read it over.

Thanks for the info on oppo; I checked with the HD Guru who suggested dual hdmi outputs and he thought that panasonic had one but they don't. Do you know of any other unit out their besides oppo?
Thanks

Thanks, I'll query Panasonic to see if they think it will work.

Huh. I though Pana 3D BDPs only came with dual HDMI outputs. I think they make three models?
