Hello Everyone!

Just got my Denon 3910 player. This is going to sound really goofy but I cannot get the analog 5.1 output set up properly. I have it hooked up to my 3805. My receiver is set to "EXT. IN" and the 3910 set to "normal" play.
I can hear the sound comming out of the speakers but I have to turn it up and sounds like I'm listening to an AM radio station. I've checked and rechecked all the connection and for the life of me cannot figure out what is going on. Just as a test I connected my 5 year old JVC DVD player and it was just fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Okinawan

Hi,

You may need to give a bit more info - some more detail on your setup and configuration.
What settings do you have set under the 3910's menu? Especially under the Audio part.

But as a side, (it doesn't adress your problem :) )
You may want to look into, seeing as you have a Denon 3910 and a Denon 3805, a special connection available just for Denon product caled 'Denon Link'.
They have just released the final version of this connection (a firmware update for the 3910).
This 'Denon Link' digitally passes all audio formats directly to your pre/pro; CD, DVD-A, SACD, DVD-V (DD and DTS) etc. all over just one cable.
It'll save a huge hassle of the 6 analog cables, and as long as your amp is setup ok, you should have no problems :)

Anyways, give us a bit more info on you setup, i'll see if i can help a bit more :)

Cheers
KJ

Not sure what the issue is but I suggest you get DL3 and use the Cat 5 wire that came with your 3910 and forget analog connects. I did, and it is worth the hassle. The 3910 thread on the AVS forum has the info you need.
