3806 - Audio Signals thru HDMI cable

Was tweaking' round with my Denon 3806 and my new Pio DVD 696 (with HDMI) and found that although crappy manual clearly states that such AVR does not carry audio signals thru HDMI, it really does, as a matter of fact.

The only analog cables I have connected are those for the SACD, even though I have also unplugged the L/R cables, for testing purposes.
DVD - A signals also goes thru HDMI (except SACD for 1.1 version).

Not sure if anybody realised that before though.

Any extra comments on this regard?

Page 20 of the manual mentions it.

Assume the bit in the manual you're referring to is the Troubleshooting table part at the back? That part means if you're not getting HDMI audio then check the settings in the setup menu, not the fact that it can't play them. Manual is a bit unclear sometimes.

Denon manuals are always pretty much unclear!!
