First impressions

Impressions so far after hooking up my M2200s:

I temporarily removed my subwoofer from my system. I have the M2200s driving
my Polk Audio LSi15s and LSiCs. HUGE difference in the bass and misrange
between the two at even moderate listening levels (-20 to -25 db ).
At reference level this is even more apparent.

Hooking up my Velodyne HGS-15X back up I could still definitely could hear
much more fuller sound and interestly enough the bass sounds significantly
better even with my subwoofer connected up :) I suspect this is
due to the LSi15s having 8 in. unpowered woofers which are exceptionally
power hungry.

I have my Denon AVR-4802 driving my surrounds at this point I do not
notice much difference with them. I plan on paying closer attention
over the next couple days to this aspect based on feedback.

This is my first venture into a potential separates solution. Next step will
probably be trying to find a very high end 3 channel amp ( If Anthem made
a P3 this would be idea for me ) for the LCR and then using the M2200s
to drive my surrounds. I don't want to continually upgrade so I am looking for
something to last me at least 10 years or so..

Hi, gentleman! I really appreciate your advice and the time you spent broaching the subject. Just to let everyone know, I just bought the Denon AVR-4806, 3 Outlaw 2200 monoblocks and a Denon 3910! What does everyone think of that combination? Wow, it took three months of research but I can't wait to listen to everything together!
It most definitly IS great stuff, though I think it was ill advised to to buy the monoblocks without ever having heard the 4806 in your own home.

.....The Duffinator, I offer a variation....I advise Brandon to get the receiver and speakers and work them hard for a month, listening to the system from every conceivable angle establishing favorite CD selections ....then get a three channel-200 watts per at 8 amp for the front three and compare....I venture to say the amp won't be shipped back....in this area I'm going to say you don't realize what you don't have until you have it, even though you thought you were content with what you had....guys, these self-proclaimed audiophiles have seperates for each seperate, and spend somewhere around 30 to 50 thousand on their stuff, or so I've had that figure shot at me....this is a QUALITY working man's system being suggested....a QUALITY pre-pro receiver that pushes only four surround speakers, and at least 200 per at 8 on the front three channels.....until you've heard this combination in your theater at even moderate levels up to Hoedown levels, haha, you simply don't know....Brandon, you'll keep the three channel amp and fight anyone who says different, I don't care how sensitive your speakers are....enough......
This makes a lot of sense to me. I tried my receiver with and without an amp many times and settled on having it in the loop. I previous raised the point, and still do, that many claimed to hear "HUGE" difference (improvements) in sound quality while I know for a fact that many do not. I am one of those who could (of course subjectively, no DBT) hear the difference but it is not huge. To me, that little difference justifies the extra cost. I also know others, at least some of those who has listened to my systems, thought I was just crazy.

mule, it is not my intention to ignite another debate. I just want you to know that I agree with you for the most part, except that I am not so confident that everyone can hear those huge difference. Again, I do have enough watts (or h.p.) in my systems to say that I am talking from experience, not just specs.
