3 channel system for around $1500

Looking to spend around $1,500 on a three channel system for the living room. Will be used with the Emotiva UMC-1 and the XPA-3 channel amp and Sony PS3 for the source. Whats out there? I haven't been up to speed on loudspeakers for the past year or so.

There are a ton of options available, too many to list actually. Spend some time looking through the threads here and you'll find some good recommendations in your price bracket. Personally at the top of my list in that price range are the EMP E55Ti and E5ci center.

There are also good options from SVS, HSU, Klipsch, Aperion Audio, Boston (VR3), Infinity etc.

This is a good idea and it leaves $700 toward a good subwoofer.

Off the top of my head...3 infinity Primus 362's, 2 Dayton subwoofers, and a Behringer Super-X crossover to run the subs in stereo.
