2nd subwoofer problem

I have a 10" infinity 1030w sub with a JBL amp. I just bought another sub, the same than the other one. My problem is that when I plug just one speaker, the sound is great. But if I plug the 2 subs, I loose all the power of the sound. I tried to plug them in many ways, but nothing seems to work. Can this be caused by a lack of power? thanks for your help...

what's the actual amp your using and what are the impedence on the subs?

amp: JBL BP300.1
(stable at 2 ohms)

impedance of subwoofers: 4ohms

I tried to plug the 2 speakers + together and the - together, and also tried to plug them in seperate outputs... normally, it's not supposed to give the same resuts, but it does, and the sound is very weak in the 2 cases.

it sounds like you are trying to run them in parallel to represent a 2ohm load

follow this diagram for your speaker setup two 4ohm subs and it should work out for you, and make sure you have a big enough power cable for that amp, probably a 4gauge also depending on how powerful the battery and alternator on your car is you may need to get a capacitor so it doesnt strain your electrical system

this is for JL subs, but its the same thing no matter what subs so it doesnt matter

thank you for you help. this diagram shows exactly what I am doing.
I think you're right, I will need some capacitor to get this working... I have brand new battery and alternator (more powerful than the original) and I have a 2gauge wire from my battery to the amp.
with one woofer, all is ok, but I need more power to feed the 2...

just an after thought, u may also just not have enough of an amp to drive both even with it running at two ohms it puts out what 450-500 watts at two ohms....you may be underpowering then running both together and with the single its getting more power from the amp vs. the dual setup
