2K HT Budget

All,

I’m in the market for a new av receiver and a set of 5.1 speakers. My budget for this is 2K and my living room size is around 12x14 so I prefer a smaller speaker set. Well don’t worry .. im not attracted to the small bose speaker sets 

I know that everyone have their own favorite combinations but your suggestion will help me widen my choices.

Lets not forget cables.... Audiofest PureEarthlink Connectron cables should run about 2,000 for everything you need. You won't enjoy your speakers if you don't use these cables.

I second that, I have the RX-V1600 and it's awesome. and the SVS 5.1 system with the 12" sub upgrade is only $1149. That is what I would go with if I were you.

welll.... how about:
Mordaunt-Short Genie 400 system for $1,000.
or a Hsu VTF-2 MK2, for $480 with two pairs of Canton LE102 bookshelf, for $460 (that's $460 total) and a Canton LE105 center, for $300?

for recievers how about a:
Marantz SR5600 for $ 440, or a Onkyo TX-SR604 for $330, or a Yamaha HTR-5990 for $450, or a Denon AVR-786 for $375?

(P.S. there are a lot more options for speakers and recievers, but I'm geting tired of looking. )
