2700 Again

Just a question ladies and gentlemen.Anybody have thier 2700 hooked up with presence speakers hooked up?Have you found any dvd's or other sources played that use these channels alot?

There are no sources, CD or DVD, that have information specifically for those channels. The presence speakers are given that information from Yamaha's DSP modes.
While I'm a bit curious as to how the presence speakers sound, my room does'nt really work for them space wise and I've been to lazy to try it out just for fun.

If I am not mistaken, the receiver redirects ambient noises to the presence channels. Has nothing to do with the dvd. I am not 100% positive about this.

I have been wrong before, and am certain I will be wrong again.

Watching Employee of the Month at the moment. It is 5.1 EX. It lights-up the surround back on the display of my receiver. So, it is in the disc.

The receiver will mimic this as mentioned in my previous post.

I have noticed that some EX titles don't automatically detect, and others do. I find it strange they don't come to some sort of standard.

I'm using the presence feature on my yammy, and it's an interesting, albeit, subtle effect.

Soundfield programs seem to have a touch more space. "Spectacle" is pretty cool, and not overwhelming by any means.

If you want rear surrounds and presence, it can be done. Simply buy a cheap pro amp.

Presence channels are created as part of the Cinama DSP modes.
