What's up all?

Quick question here, I found a pair of B&W DM 602's being sold locally for $250 and was wondering if that is a good price? I just purchased 3 ERM-1s the beginning of this month and am really enjoying them but am wondering if the 602s are better by a wide enough margin to go through the trouble of paying for and shipping back the ERM's and if so what is the matching center channel for the 602s and about how much would it set me back?

Thanks for the help.

Well, the B&W DM602 S3 usually retails for $300 each.
The matching center channel is the LCR600 S3, which retails for $500.

Now, I cannot say which one is best, it is a way too much loose question, with zillion of variables. And besides, I'm not familiar at all with ERM speakers.
Can you tell me more about those? Where they from? Who built them?...

But one thing that I know, is that I love B&W speakers in general.
I will try an audition, that would be your best bet.

Cheers,
Bob

The ERM's are from Emotiva.
ERM-1
OK now, ERM, I got lost there my friend.
Now Emotiva, I know their amps much more then their speakers.
I would still get the B&W. That's the brand of speaker I grew up with, I just love that British refined sound.

I think you need to read a bit more my friend. If you only knew how many speakers I love, you'd be very surprised. Never judge the book by his cover. :)
In some audio forums that I'm a member, I'm well known as the B&W guy.
Also, on other forums, I praise German made speakers, several brands.
And also, Danish speakers. I see that you know nothing about me, just yet.
Stick around, you might enjoy the ride.

Absolutely agree with you here Jamie.

Ya, I did respond to you on another thread Griffin.

Everyone has their own favorites, right? But me, I got much more than just one. If I'll start to enumerate them, it would probably take me a large portion of the night. So, I'll keep cool.

Also, if you noticed, I don't visit the speaker's thread too often. And there is a very good reason for that too. Guess?

If they are S3 then I would jump all over them at that price point. If they are not S3 then I don’t have an opinion... I guess.

Anyways as LOTR and the B&W literature says, the LCR600 S3 would the matching center.

But IMHO you can save yourself some cash and go with the LCR60 S3. Its timbre match to the 603 & 604 is excellent (I couldn’t hear a difference) so I would assume that it will mate extremely well to the 602s since they use the same 7in driver found in the 604s.

I auditioned the 602 S3s a while back and really did not like them. But lots of folks do. As others here are saying, if they are in good shape you should grab them. Try them in your room vs the Emos. You should be able to easily get your money back by selling the 602s if you don't decide to keep them.
