i agree with 906/5007, 876/3007 but would have to say that the 1007 is the replacement for the 806 (both thx ultra 2 plus) and the 807 is the new kid on the block(thx select 2 plus) same cert as 706 but 707 is direct replacement.
it looks like onkyo is jacking there prices way up and I don't think that it will work. the 805 really brought onkyo back in the mix with a $1k ultra 2 receiver. now with a $1600 start for ultra 2 I see tuff times for onkyo sales.
Hmmm... For me the 807 is the next model replacement of the 806.
But then you're right about what you're saying, it's just a new twist in Onkyo bag of tricks I guess. And you know what, the 806 was never a truly THX Ultra2 Plus certified receiver to begin with, well, at least realistically speaking.
There is a difference between true performance and fudged numbers, the 805 falls in the first category, the 806 and 807 in the later.
I still think and agree with Seth=L that the 1007 is the new disguised kid on the block.
And to be quite frank, anything below the 1007, just doesn't cut it in my book, for these newest Onkyo models.
Cheers,
Bob
