I didn't actually get anything like that for Christmas, but I treated myself to a bargain in Pawn Shop. I got some Athena Technologies AS-B1s for $35.

I got what I wanted: a Milwaukee Hammer/Drill, 18v. w/dual batteries. About 240.00 in Home Depot, got it only for 172.00 inc. shipping. Now that's a bargain.

Officially, I didn't get anything other than some DVD's (Cars, Strange Brew, Talladega Nights, a Pearl Jam concert DVD, Beerfest, Pirates of the Carribean 2 and I got NBA 2k7 for my ps2 with a Best Buy gift card).

Unofficially, I am getting a PS3 in 3 weeks or so and that is my combined x-mas and b-day (feb 9th) present, along with a denon 2307ci which I am shaving some funds off the top of my paycheck for to buy in late Feb or March with the wifes permission (of course!).



These are considered my "gifts" even though my money is buying them as much as hers...mostly because I PROMISED the next "big" purchase would be a new king size bed since I just bought a big HDTV last September, so she is allowing me to circumvent the "purchase list" to my selfish benefit.

I am not alone in this type of scenario, am I guys?

It makes me chuckle to type it even. Am I not a man?

A laser sight for a miter saw??!!!How do you install it? Does it just mark where blade will cut board? Sounds cool, I'm just about ready to replace my existing miter saw, I'm too embarassed to even name the brand (Black and Decker )

Let's see, I got my fiance' and daughter a PS3 and Wii along with 11 games. Umm, well, I play them more, but it was the thought that counted.

Other then that I got a bunch of gift certificates to get some saltwater fish that I want and a few video games.

Wife got me a Ihome alarm clock/Ipod dock, parents sent me a Xmods RC Mitsubishi EVO from radio shack to play with.

I'm working on getting a pair of Piano Rosewood Onix X-LS and preordered MFW-15 as I type this. Wife is at work right now with all the debit/credit cards.

my wife got me Warcraft 3. which I've owned for a few years now.
Ys the Joanna Newsom CD.
A Game Of Thrones by George R R Martin.
she also got me a Chris Daughtry CD that was on my Amazon wishlist. I dislike Chris Daughtry and the CD was on the list because I was going to get her it for her birthday.
2 pairs of improperly sized jeans that will be exchanged for some new sneakers.
disgusting Lowreys beef jerkey. Made from recombined cow paste.
a red, handcarved Indonesian demon mask. A little bit of Temple Of Doom for my living room.

The wife felt bad about buying her own CD and getting me a game I already owned, so she exchanged it towards Final Fantasy 12 on boxing day.

Once again I spend @$700 total on Xmas gifts and only get about $150 in swag. This holiday sucks.

I went a little overboard this year - my estimating biz has boomed recently. This is for the kids and myself:

New Emachines T5048 PC for the kids (no internet access, they're too young)
Lifecam VX-6000 HD pc cam for instant messaging - 1.3 megapixel video
SVS Plus/2 Oak sub - finally a real sub (my favorite gift)
Internal DVD RW drive and Maxtor 200 Gig HD for my aging PC
Last month a 37" Olevia LCD flat screen to replace the old 36" Toshiba CRT
DVD recorder for the kids TV so they quit hogging the HD DVR
Looking at upgrading my aging '98 F150 extended cab to an '07 Silverado if the deal is right, -I'm at 136,000 miles and it's used for my biz. We'll see if they'll deal. I love the new Toyotas, but man are they $$$.

I've been putting in 80 hour weeks since Oct. 4th, so it felt good to spend a little lately.

From my fiance's family we got a new set of tableware. Probably the best gift since we were eyeing the set anyway and not to mention that we were still using dishes from our college days (3 mixed mismatched sets).

My fiance gave me a couple cool t-shirts, a pair sweatpants and everything i need for a beta fish (minus the fish).

For me, its going to be a belated Christmas + B'Day gift, a Denon 3910 in March

For my buddy Rocket, we got a 3 foot long raw hide candy cane. Its funny to see him try to run around with it.

I got A Black & White Night /Roy Orbison, & Pink Floyd Pulse from my kids. I have to tell you, that Roy can play. It sounds great and has several notables performing. Elvis' key members of TCB, The Boss, Elvis Costello, James Burton and more. DTS sounds outstanding. Oh Pretty Woman is excellent!!!! Highly recommend this one! My wife gave her OK to pull the trigger on an SVS PB12 plus 2 subwoofer. Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
