2 Quick Questions

1. Which (I guess the owners will know) receiver has a good OSD. Meaning not just for set-up, as I have read that the Pioneer 1018 has. I know Sony, and Denon have, but what about HK 254/354, and how good is Sony's and Denon's?
2. When I get one of these receivers, everything will be hooked up via HDMI:
PS3, cable box, Oppo, therefore if everything is HDMI in to the receiver, and out to the display, would there be any upscaling/converting? The TV is a Sony KDS R70XBR2 1080p.

If you want a good OSD stay away from Yamaha. I hear the new Onkyos and Denons have color and everything.

That tv is aboslutely awesome. Massive, the picture is nothing short of outstanding. I had a guy putting in granite months ago, and asked me if I would turn it on for a couple of minutes....
but like all things, they don't make it anymore

now this GUI is right on your tv, right? And you can get it whenever you want to change things, I mean, it's not just for the initial setup

It displays anytime you want it and the upper Denon's are the only ones I could find that overlays 1080p over HDMI, which was inportant to me.

You can display it right over the movie or TV show you are watching. The volume displays anytime you adjust it.

Harman Kardons AVR354 has a OSD simliar to ParadigmDawg's pictures. Only thing is I think the denon will sound better than the hk
