A friend of a friend is selling 2 Klipsch reference series RF3 towers, matching center, two RC3 surrounds, and KFW12 sub that are about 4 years old for $500. I would use them in a dedicated HT, which is only 11 x 15.

Is this a good deal? Are the speakers too much for such a small room, i.e., I have heard that the Klipsch sound better in larger rooms, and not as great in a smaller room such as where I will be using them. Thanks for your advice.

For $500 I say go for it, if you find that you don't like it, you should easily be able to sell all that off for what you paid for it or maybe more.

I am not a big Klipsch fan but for 500 bucks, I would try them.

If you've heard them and you don't mind the way they sound, I don't see why not.

If they are in good working condition, you'd be a fool not to get them.
If you don't like the way they sound, which I doubt, then you can easily sell them for what you paid.

I agree, but I have heard them only in a larger setting, noit the smaller HT setting where I will be using them. Since I had heard that some of the Klipsch speakers do not perform as well in a smaller setting, I didn't want to take the chance unless it was a good deal. And from everyone's response, it seems as though it is. Thanks for you help.

These should sound fine in your small room. It's the bigger Klipsch's that
are room size challenged.
