2 10 in Wireless Subs at 150 watts continuous or one 12 inch 300 watt continuous subwoofer?

The 10-inch woofers are klipsch and the 12 inch is a polk which is Head and Shoulders above the klipsch

I know everyone says two are better than one but the 12 inch subwoofer has so much more death and raw power

The klipsch gets down to 32hz but the Polk down to 23hz.

Am i missing out going with 2 klipschs instead?

Like usual, it depends. Not sure if the model numbers, but wattage specs aren’t usually that important. I will assume the 12 goes deeper than the 10’s. The largest benefit of multiple subs is more even coverage over more seats, while also adding headroom. A single sub in a small-med size room properly integrated with the mains can absolutely be all that you need. Room size and construction type will have determined much of the performance. For me 10” and sub don’t even belong in the same sentence but that’s because of my listening space. It’s very large, and on concrete. I use 3 12” subs but will be buying upgrading to at least a pair of 15’s when I can. However in my bedroom, or den a 10” sub would likely be ok. Although I would choose one from RSL or SVS long before a klipsch. So it depends. Playback goals vs budget and so on.
How much do have to spend? How big is the room? Movies, music, or both?
If I had to answer your question based only on what you’ve asked, I’d pick the 12”. Also keep in mind multiple subs need to be setup correctly or they too can make things worse. It’s not as easy as plop and play.

The Polk is definitely the better choice. But one problem that remains is that due to the enormous wavelengths of bass frequencies, the room is really in control of how much bass you'll get, and WHERE you'll get it.

One sub can be positioned to work great for one listener, but again, it all depends on the room. So if you go Polk, keep in mind you may end up wanting another!

Sorry guys Polk psw505 12inch

Klipsch r- 10swi 10inch.

My room is around 14×20

I am unable to put the sub up front with the mains as there is a hallway on the right and the front door on the left side so I have one 10 on the right wall about 4' front the right front tower. And i have the other 10 klipsch now behind me near the back left corner.

If I ran one 12, the polk, I would test and see where is best.

I already have a Polk psw505 downstairs in the billards room on an old Pioneer receiver and my God almighty is it deep and loud, i would say 3 times more dynamic than a single Klipsche

Definitely would need to experiment. REW and a umik wouldn’t hurt either although an spl and some tones can help get you closer than flying blind. I’m curious about the budget. There are definitely better subwoofers to be had but at what cost. I have a lot of experience with the 505 and when used by itself in my space it’s kind of a fart box. I don’t like the sound of it when crossed over too high, and when I measured it, in my space the f3 was about 24hz so it leaves a lot on the table for extension. However when I limit its response to the 30-60 range and blend it with my PC12 pluses it fits in nicely. Ed Mullen(SVS)reviewed it a long time ago here:

Fun read.

I would definitely drag your sons 505 upstairs and experiment with it. I would rather use it than the klipsches anyway. Especially if your concerning yourself with a single seat.

Yes mainly a single seat, or two on the couch and a recliner about 5, away from the direct seating position and a few feet forward.

I have to say the difference in 2 subs compared to 1 is night and day with room volume.

Is the svs that much better?

I agree. Room volume is definitely the first thing to consider when buying a sub. Something we sometimes only learn the hard way, myself included. Same thing with the Polk and SVS comparison. Unless you experience linear smooth deep bass response, it’s hard to imagine. But then, once you do, you’ll never consider anything else. People on amazon for example seem to love the 505. And I can see why. If that’s your first foray into decent subwoofage, it’s great. It’s fairly loud, fairly deep and adds a lot to a system that doesn’t have a sub, or has a smaller one. As soon as you experience a sub that has extension down to 20hz and is linear above that(the Polk and klipsch examples are boomy and loose by comparison) there’s no going back. The only reason I point that out is it seems relevant to the SVS question. If your budget is in the range of the Polk, then options are definitely limited. Iirc the BICpl200 is often compared. I don’t remember seeing a budget before. Do you have one in mind?
Yes, the SVS(and definitely others) is better than the Polk.

Here’s one to look at. It’s just above at 549.00 but will beat that Polk at every single metric. It’s bigger brother is even better, but it’s 800 bucks, and still worth it IMO.

HSU subs represent great value.
The 500 dollar range is tough, but there are some good ones.

Funk, Seaton, JTR, Deep Sea Sound, Rythmik, Hsu, SVS, Power Sound Audio to start :) They're going to cost a bit more than the low end Klipsch or Polk subs, tho. Maybe DIY would be a consideration for you.....

These always come to mind but the only number I saw was 500 bucks. Definitely can’t get an fv15hp for that! Lol

LOL I didn't see the budget at all....thought with the subs he had it was more like $200. Entry level is a bit higher than $500...only the SVS SB1000/PB1000 are the $500 ones that come to mind.

Lol! I thought of those too, but then the HSU that I linked at 550.
