1694A or 1505F for line level interconnects?

I did a search and read some recommendations for 1505F for line level audio interconnects, but what about Belden 1694A?

This is my video cable of choice and if I were to buy it in bulk and terminate it myself, it would be nice to be able to use it for audio interconnects as well.

It looks like the 1694A has slightly less capacitance than 1505F (16.2pf/ft vs 17pf/ft) but has a solid center conductor instead of stranded. If the extra stiffness isn't a factor, is there a reason to stay away from 1694A for audio interconnects? Thanks guys!

Bueller?

Surely someone has tried, or thought about trying, Belden 1694A for audio interconnects (RCA terminations) right?

I don't see why it'd be a problem for anything other than the reasons you mentioned. In fact, if you're using it as a phono interconnect, the lower capcitance is a damn good thing. Besides, it's an RG6 video cable, there should be no reason it wouldn't work for audio. It has performance way beyond what you need for audio, not to mention both braid and foil shielding.

I would think that the only reason that the 1505F is more popular would be because of its greater flexibility.

Oh, I just thought of a problem though. Since it doesn't have any silver in it, it can't protect you from the werewolves!

Oooo, good point. And I'll have to make sure and put arrows on there for current flow so I'll know how to hook them up. :)

Thanks jaxvon.

And of course make sure you break those cables in too. I have some snakeoil you can rub on them to help break those in! :D

You cannot rub snake oil into a cable. The snake oil must be applied to the insulation and conductors. Applying snake oil to a pvc jacket will only dissolve the jacket unless the entire cable assembly has been cryoed or you use a teflon jacket or both.
