There are wireless systems that allow you to use your own amp, but you are still going through a transmitter/receiver.
I'm assuming two channel, right? I'm curious about those myself. Waddaya got?

Also, when i looked for s simple mono system for a sub, i found a very limited selection. Anything you can think of there?

Just got overwhelmed with info, and prepping my house for replacement carpet, lack of sleep, who knows, and I just missed those responses unfortunately....

it actually, would not matter, as it turns out, the carpet installer is not removing the tack strip because he says it is too difficult to replace it on a concrete slab, so the space I have to work with between the concrete slab and the wall is just enough to fit the 16 gauge flat monster cable that I got. A larger cable would be a problem,. The only other option in the future will be to go under baseboards and maybe use wiremold for other areas, though that is more than is going to happen for now.

Thanks.
I totally understand. The night before my carpet was installed, I was painting all night and was seriously tired when they showed up. Well, tired and jazzed that I was getting new carpet. :)

Btw, not replacing a tack strip on concrete is a bunch of BS. The folks that put my carpet in tore out the old strips and put new ones in without blinking. I remember asking them about the strips because I ran flat wire on the floor underneath before they arrived, but the strips were in the way. Where I live, basements are pretty rare, so putting carpet down on concrete is normal.

These are surrounds. I'd run the cable and not worry about it. That said Monster cable is not a good product. They put cheap plastic in the middle to make it bigger and a standard 14 gauge is probably thinner. But these are surrounds so it isn't that critical.

Actually I think it was fronts & center that he was running 50' to, but maybe that has changed....
