Something like this might work for me.

I would mount that above the TV. Plus this gives the lady friend a nice place to put pictures and other lady friendly decorations. WIN WIN
If you are going with the EMP system you don't want to do that as it would put the rear ports of the center almost right against the wall. Would make the dialogue or anything coming out of that speaker sound very boxy.

Make something. Homedepot will cut wood to length. You just screw it together and paint it black. However my concern would be that with the size of your AV cabinet it might put the screen too high. I'd also be worried about stability. Cabinets don't have to be expensive. Walmart.com is a great resource and will usually ship to your local store for free.

Regarding the sub:

Hardware list:
TiVo HD
Onkyo Reciever SR304
xbox 360
MacBook w/ remotebuddy to launch plex/xbmc/boxee/itunes
PowerMacG5 w/ 2TB raid to server media throughout the house.
What does everyone think about the power capabilities of the tx-sr304 for the emps? I'm not sure that is even rated for 6ohms, might be something to consider...selling that and grabbing a 6xx series should be enough, but that 304...I just dunno. Don't mean to rain on a fun speaker selection thread, just don't want the OP to be disappointed.

He could always pick up a refurbished 606 for $300 with factory warranty, or a refurbished 607 for $330 from accessories for less. I got my refurb 606 from them. Or if he has patience they seem to go on sale somewhere brand new for not too much more than that about once a month.

How about this.

For teh rears i skip the Emotiva's and get a set of Klipsch S1's and use the extra money to get a Onkyo 607 receiver?

I use similar for rear surrounds in my family room and I don't know why it wouldn't work out. If worse comes to worse you can move them to your bedroom down the road.

So I ended up ordering the following:

EMP E55Ti (Front)
E5Bi Bookshelf (Rear)
E5Ci Center Channel
Chrysalis by Velodyne Starfire-12 Subwoofer
System Total: $1634 shipped/no tax.

The book shelfs arrived today at my parents place (no doorman at my apartment building) so i hooked it up to the Onkyo reciever. I am fairly impressed. In the room they are in now (12 x20) low drop ceiling (finished basement) they fillthe room easily. I am gonna leave them hooked up for them to use for the nexttwo weeks since I will beaway for business :-( But when i get home i will have the rest of the systemwaiting for me. :-D
