12V trigger switch...where do I get a cable for this?

Hi everyone. I just purchased a Rotel RB1070 and wanted to hook it via the trigger switch to my Marantz SR8400 so that the receiver controlled the amp. However, I didn't see the 3.5mm plug/cable that the instruction manual says I need to do so. Does anyone know where I could pick this cable up? My first thought was Radio Shack, but I'm not sure. Would I need to go to an audio store? Also, just out of curiosity, should the amp have had that included? Thanks for the help.

Most amps don't have it included, do a search of these forums as I actualy went out and found the exact link for the Radio Shack part number that you need when someone else asked a few weeks ago.

Search 1/8" mini or 12v trigger or radio shack... You should find the link.

Hopefully...

Uh oh. I just pulled up a photo of my receiver online (I'm at work and can't physically look at it) and didn't see any 12v trigger inputs. Does that mean I can't hook this up? That seems really weird...it's a Marantz SR8400...marantz makes dedicated power amps, so it seems like it'd have it. Maybe I just can't make them out in the photo cause it's a little fuzzy/blurry. Anyone have this receiver? Can you tell me if it's got this?

Not quite sure if you can trigger across the different brand components either.
Personally I couldnt with the Yamaha RX-V1500 and a Kenwood DP-R3090 5 disc CD Player.
To tell you the truth, I wasnt expecting it to work, though I did have my fingers crossed..

12 Volt triggers are generally universal. Don't confuse them with the connections that allow common mfg components to function off the same remote. Not the same thing.
I'm pretty sure the 8400 has trigger outs. The 8500 does for sure. I can't imagine there being that much difference.

Oh yeah, you got a much, much better photo than I found. The one I saw was tiny. At any rate, I found it when I got home and got back behind the receiver. Funny thing is, I couldn't get it to work. Don't know if it's b/c mine was Marantz or what. And...more so than that, it doesn't really matter. I'm having to sell it. I think I overestimated how receptive the fiancé is to new equipment. When she saw me with the box, it was one of those silent stares and I could see the words inside her head...her thoughts were saying something along the lines of "get rid of it....now." Always gotta keep that WAF in mind when buying equipment...and I've been on a rampage as of late, so I'll let this one go. Bummer.

For those who are questioning IR repeater systems or Crestron or other RF control systems, WAF is what it is all about. I have a stack of equipment 6 feet tall... but it's all in my basement and my wife gets to play with the one-touch remote that is so easy to use.
