12v trigger on 3805

Hello all. I just received the Monster HTS2000 power center. The power center has a feature that allows a 12v trigger to turn the power center on and off with an audio component - in my case the 3805. Can I just connect the cable from the 3805 12v trigger out to the power center's 12v trigger in and once I turn on/off the receiver it will either turn the power center on or off with the 3805?

Also, can I plug the Behringer A500 amps (2) into the back of the 3805 without causing any damage so that they (amps) shut down with the 3805?

Thanks for any help.

No, don't plug the A500 into any receiver's switched or unswitched outlet. It draws too much power. If you check the back panel, or the manual, it will tell you the max power you can plug into those outlets.

Now, as the the trigger. If you want the 3805 to trigger the power center on and off, what will happen when it is powered off? How will the 3805 have 12v on it to turn it on if it too is plugged into that power bar?

Follow the manual... and I am sorry for you buying Monster Costing Monster Crap... Bad brand man.. Bad brand...

If someone gave me $100 and put a gun to my head, and told me to buy monster cable, or a product, I would soon have my brains all over the wall...

Plug the receiver power into the receiver unswitched outlet on thecenter.
Plug the amps into the switched outlets on center.
Connect trigger from 3805 to center.
Make other connections as appropriate.

The unswitched outlets allow constant power to the receiver. When the receiver is switched on, it triggers the center to allow power to the switched outlets turning on the amps.

Interesting. So they also have switched and unswitched outlets. That is how it will work. My boombox doesn't need one of these so I don't have one.:D

The power center has 2 high current outlets (as you are aware) - 1 for receiver and 1 for an amp (unswitched). I have 3 amps so does it matter if I plug them into the video side of the power center (switched)?. According to Monster the audio and video have different filtering capabilities but the manual says it won't hurt anything to plug audio in a video slot but not vice versa.

Thanks for you input.

The 3805 allows a total of 120w total for both plugs. So I will probably just plug the DVD and either tape deck or turntable into the 3805. Are these ok as plug ins?

The power center has switched and unswitched outlets. The receiver is an unswitched outlet - always power to it. So it will not shut down.

Thanks for your input.

That should work fine, although I'd be inclined to keep the amps on the audio side and put extra audio sources on the video side. If not, you'll notice a difference in video quality.

Gotcha. That's what I'll do.

Thanks
