Yeah, no kidding. I did not know that... that's almost underhanded if you ask me.

any specific examples?

Reminds me of older "1080p" sets that could not accept a 1080p signal via HDMI. or something like that...
With last year's LCD models, only the Sony sets did 120Hz correctly.
All the Sharp and Samsungs did 3:2 then 2:2.

Not good.

This year they're much more on the ball, but it's still a gimmick and doesn't make up for LCD's inherent shortcomings.

Happy plasma, happy life.

I own a 120hz Samsung and It's worse with it on. Wish I would have gone with the 46" for the money I spent to get 120hz and 25000:1 ratio.

The 120hz is just a gimmick, it's garbage!

I thought/think Sony's 120hz looked like garbage. With the it turned off, the sets were unwatchable with blu-ray due to judder.

I've got the Mits Diamond DLP and I have it turned off. I didn't think it would be possible to make the olympics look any worse, but with it on, gymnastics, vollyball, and any other rapid movement was made even worse with 120 on.

Until I realized it was the signal causing all the issues I was sure my TV was setup wrong and I played extensively with all the setting only to return it to where I started.
