From the discussion my many, it appears that 1080p is warranted/justified when the screen size is large, typically in a front projector display.
But for RPT sets, that use DLP or SRXD or D-ILA technologies where typical screen size is between 55"-75", does it matter whether these set are 1080p or 1080i or 720p?
Considering that the only true 1080p source will only be the HD-DVD or Blue Ray, while the rest of the other souce, SAT, Cable, OTA will either be 1080i or 720p, it seems that I don't have to worry about this. I think the HD-DVD or Blue Ray would also support down-scale it to either 1080i or 720p (I hope).
Furthermore, I see that the 720p or 1080i models from last year model has price dropped considerably due to the new crazed on 1080p. It's just seem reasonable to just stick with these older model for price/budgetting perspective.
Anyone have the same idea?
