Here's your subwoofer from SVS' authorized Canadian distributor. The PB12-NSD will come in very near $1,000 after tax and shipping. It seems like EFL is getting out of the HSU product line and only has discontinued models at not so clearance price.

Given what you've said, there are two things you think you're missing. 1) The experience of good speakers and 2) Bass. I assure you that the PB12-NSD will introduce another dimension to movies and music that will put a smile on your face and astound your friends.

You say you're happy with your speakers for now, but let me add this. If you take the instant gratification and get the sub now, then continue speaker shopping and auditioning, the sub will still be useful with any new speakers you choose, so it's not a waste but rather a building block or stepping stone. It also opens up more options to speaker shopping. You can consider bookshelf or floorstanders equally. Take your time shopping for speakers and be sure that you get speakers that sound the way you like speakers to sound. It's very subjective.

Bose really suck

Although I've never heard of the 701, but I've heard their 301 and they sound REALLY BAD!!! My Logitech Z-2300 (computer speaker) BLOWS IT AWAY. I am sure my Logitech Z-2300 can blown away ANY BOSE SPEAKER.
Anyway, back to the point, I've heard the Axioms before. To an audiophile like me, they sound a little bright. Otherwise it is a very good pair of speakers with a very high bang for the buck.
If you can, get the SVS's MBS-01(Mid Sized Bookshelf Speaker) (you can't get the MTS-01 (Mid Sized Tower Speaker)because that will be out of your price range.) The MBS-01 sounds as sound good as the MTS-01 but less powerful (The MTS-01 has 2 6.5 inch woofers rather than 1 in the MBS-01) They will have the best bang for the buck and the best sound. Buy them now because there is a pre order period and you get a 100 dollar discount I believe. I recommend upgrading the whole system at the same time (yes I know it will cost you). A complete system (4 MBS-01 and 1 MCS-01 speaker) with a PB13 Ultra will only be around 4000 Canadian dollars. Read this page svsound.com/news-news.cfm for more information.
If you get that system, your jaws will probably be stucked on the floor for a long time because your previous system was almost junk.(no offense). I'm ready to pre-order a full sized 5.1 MTS system as soon as their pre-order period starts.

So how do you know how the MBS, or the MTS speakers sound? :confused:

EP500
PB12-NSD
PB13-Ultra

As for front speakers, I'm looking at;

Axiom M60/M80
RBH TK-5CT (if I can find a distributor in Canada)

The PB13-Ultra is in a class by itself. The other subs are not even close to it. It's in a different league. From the early reports I have been getting about this sub from forum members. It matches, or beats the JL Audio Fathom 113 output. :eek:

Here is what TomV stated. Hi guys,

Based on JL's own measurements of the F113...a single PB13Ultra will match or exceed its output capabilities. Both will have exceptional *SQ*. The advantage for the JL is its smaller size and auto-EQ. The SVS is less than half the price and has some cool features of its own(PEQ, Room comp,ect).

There's quite a range between the NSD and the Ultra. You skipped the whole Plus line. This may be a case, in your room, where the PB12-Plus/2 is a cost effective solution. It will play nice and tight when you want it to, but if called upon, will utterly destroy that room with unholy bass. Sometimes the middle option will wreak just the right amount of havoc and destruction, without going overboard.
