Optoma H31, in the box stuff?

As far as I know they all come with a nylon carrying bag (a pretty nice one in fact). Of course, I could be wrong. (And I can't imagine what most people will do with it, though- it's really more full blown theater projector than presentation PJ.) My suggestion would be to just buy at...

    Equalizer Pros/Cons

I feel EQ is like deodorant while room treatment is like a shower. No amount of Right Guard will mask your b.o. if you're not clean, so to start with the deodorant is a waste of time. The EQ will be the fine tuning, and fix those last bits that can't be acheived with passive treatment. I...

$400 cash rebate on the Panny AE-900U!

This one's good thru the end of the month if purchased from an authorized online dealer, such as VisualApex. Note: VisualApex is selling the Panny for $1750, which is a damned good price before the rebate! I just bought an Optoma H31 not long ago, but I'm already thinking about upgrading to...

Visual Apex has the Optoma H31 for $599 AR!

BTW, the AH staff did a very nice review of the H31. Plus, ProjectorCentral reviewed it very favorably and found it compared pretty well to the Panny AE-700U (albeit with less resolution with true HD). Mine has been ISF calibrated and looks mahvellous!:D

Visual Apex has the Optoma H31 for $599 AR!

I have an H31, and I love it! It replaced an older Plus Piano. It doesn't do true HD (although it does accept 1080i thru HDMI inputs), but for DVDs I can't imagine much better for even several times the price. 4x color wheel, 16:9 native res, and a really nifty remote are all standard.:)...

Visual Apex has the Optoma H31 for $599 AR!

Holy Cow! It's now $599 after rebate! Check out the link! I have this PJ and I'd say at this price it's untouchable. This puts a good near-HD PJ within the reach of almost anyone! BTW, I've purchased from VisualApex and have found them to be a good company.

    How many posts?...

Don't worry, conseit68- you'll get there. One thing people tend to forget is that not all members of a community are highly vocal. There are several forums where I've lurked without registering for a year, but where I still read the content nearly every day. Sometimes a 'new' face isn't...

    I don't recall exactly but somehow I'm thinking it's 15 posts. Keep going, you're almost there.:D

    A total newbie- PLEASE HELP!

If you're lucky you might find HDMI cables at your local WalMart store. The ones in my area sell them for around $20-$30 depending on length.

    CD Ripping Advice

I concur. It could take you months to rip your whole collection; if you go with a lossless codec you won't have to re-rip everything again if you decide to change formats. HD space is pretty cheap nowadays.

    Ohio Democrat proposes 100% tax

A barrel of crude is well under the all time high price yet gas is far beyond the all time record. And the oil companies are posting the largest profits of any company in the history of human civilization. Am I the only one that doesn't smell a rat?

    Salk Veracity

There's a Salk Owners Circle over at AudioCircle. He makes the nicest looking speakers I've ever seen and he has won over a lot of people. If I had the coin my next pair of speakers would be Veracity HT3s.

Best Buy = stressful experience LOL

I don't feel 'pampered' at BB- I feel harrassed!;) Why are there one hundred blue shirts wandering around interrupting me while only two of them are at the registers? And why does one check you out while two or three stand five feet away talking about the party they went to last night? BB...

Why do folks like the Spiderman flicks so much?

I didn't think much of Hellboy when I originally saw it in the theater, but I liked it a lot more the second time when I watched it from DVD. Sure, there's some bad effects and the plot's pretty lame. But there are some good performances, especially from Perleman as HB. And it doesn't...

    Song editing software?

$1k is a lot more expensive than buying Nero for $80. Presumably s/he already has a computer, or else they wouldn't be asking for a software recommendation, dontcha think?:D Unless there's a lot more to it than the original post actually said, no one in their right minds would...

Why do folks like the Spiderman flicks so much?

That's probably true, too. Several series & cartoons on TV over the years.
