Velodyne SMS-1 Subwoofer Management System Review

Opps, I fixed it. thanks. We are very familiar what is on the market for bass correction. I personally own a Berhinger 2496 which is great, though very hard to use and has no OSD. Well technically its a processor but I agree so I will move it :D Yes it sounded chocolatey, though...

Switching / Class D Amps: The Technology & Issues

It is a function of bad amplifier design practices including: 1. Lack of good board layout 2. Lack of good grounding scheme 3. Lack of Post Filter Feedback Stage We plan on reviewing more of these type of amps after we establish a solid test procedure since they are very challenging to...

RBH Sound Signature SE/R System Review

That depends on your room, equipment and subwoofer(s). 80Hz is a great starting point and if you are doing home theater, I wouldn't go much below 60Hz.

RBH Sound Signature SE/R System Review

No thats NOT a typo. The phase plug driver sacrifices a bit of cone area as opposed to the conventional one. It's a moot point if you are using a subwoofer (recommended) though.

Parasound Halo A-51 Amp and other high end Amps

The Halo's are a better amp than Emotiva on paper. They can deliver more power per channel (especially at low impedance), and have a lower noise floor and output impedance. However, the Emotiva is far more efficient, runs alot cooler and is much cheaper! Given the choice between the two, I...

RBH Sound Signature SE/R System Review

The difference between the 44-Se and 66-SE is a matter of output and dynamics. In medium sized rooms the 44-SE is likely all you will ever need. I am using them in a family room which is about 15 x 20 but opens to the kitchen and they work just fine. IF you are going with a 6 series Signature...

    THE ALL CHANNELS DRIVEN FALLACY

I am not sure where this 11 watt nonsense is coming from but you will almost never be running the same continuous signal into all channels simultaneously. Crowd cheering is not a continuous sine wave like the typical all channels driven test is. Also with most speakers, a few watts driven into...

Buc; Rather than firing the sub driver at the listening area, try firing it towards the back wall and see if it further smooths out bass response. Its a good trick that can sometimes help.
