    $6,000 Recommended Two-Channel Stereo System

Hot off the presses, a $2k two-channel system: $2,000 Recommended Two-Channel Stereo System — Reviews and News from Audioholics If you want a digital input, the HK 3490 is the ONLY viable solution I've found. It's a great receiver and I reviewed and bench tested it too. These...

As I said before the ones written by the E-Store say "Audioholics E-store" such as this one: Audioholics Store $750 Audio System — Reviews and News from Audioholics There were 3 other systems but it looks like they retracted them to update obsolete components. Those should go online...

    $6,000 Recommended Two-Channel Stereo System

RE Recommended Systems & Estore Guys; I hear all your arguments and understand your concerns but quite frankly we can't please everyone. The most vocal people against these guides are usually the ones that think they could assemble a better system for less anyways and won't consider the...

    $6,000 Recommended Two-Channel Stereo System

absolutely not. We figured most people setting up a 2CH system wouldn't have a display in that room and it''s necessary to have a display to configure the Oppo. If however you have a display than the Oppo BDP-105 would be the perfect solution.

    $6,000 Recommended Two-Channel Stereo System

Check again. The amp, Sacd player and turntable come out to around $3k. Power conditioner is optional and useful. There is no hard rule that you have to spend more on speakers then everything else combined. The yammie amp is pricey but it's got a meaty amp section and it looks fantastic...

Which brand makes the best quality loudspeakers?

Agreed and look at the section on tweeters in my article comparing an inexpensive Dayton Titanium tweeter with low power handling vs the top of the line expensive Scan Speak tweeter with high power handling and low Fs. IMO, at this price point, SOTA drivers should be used all around not just...

    Pioneer Andrew Jones SP-PK52FS review

I would say the Pioneers are an upgrade in the tweeter department for sure. They use a real ferrite magnet and their drivers have vented pole pieces. Plus they did a great crossover design in these pups. I just don't understand their retail pricing  I will be getting a pair to...

    Myth's in audio

Elliot is a good guy. We used to collaborate on editorials and together we coined the term "black knights" to describe esoteric cable fanatics. It's been a long time since I've seen his name and its good to see he is still writing. His content is solid!

    $6,000 Recommended Two-Channel Stereo System

Note about Recommended Systems Guys; Cliff is a pro installer and I've asked him to assemble a bunch of new recommended systems for the site using what is available via the Estore and/or established ID brands, making it as easy as possible to purchase everything from one or two sources. $6,000 Recommended Two-Channel Stereo System

A powered sub could always be added but there is something to be said about having just a pair of very bass capable speakers without using external subs. I wrestle this in my own system which features $50k/pair speakers. The bass integration is so good and deep on my speakers that turning on my...

tekton - the next big thing?

You're forgetting about mid bass above 80Hz that a single midrange simply cannot keep up with a dedicated powered sub below those frequencies. This is why a speaker like the EMP E55Ti (although has very weak bass extension below 50Hz) has oddles of midbass that will be an easy match for a high...

Which brand makes the best quality loudspeakers?

It seems they upgraded cone tech and also put much more powerful motors and higher power handling coils. At this price I was kinda hoping for a higher grade tweeter and one that has higher power handling and lower Fs so they could eliminate the need for two. but, it seems these speakers have...
