The Truth vs Hype about Expensive HDMI Cables

This is NOT True. Most exotic cable manufactures have NO measurement gear to measure cable performance. Most of them don't even believe measurements matter. They love to promote engineering principles that their cables are allegedly designed to offer superior performance but then deny the...

The Truth vs Hype about Expensive HDMI Cables

To clear up a few points here: As far as I know, Audioquest doesn't have any staff EE's working at their company. At least I've never found one during my trade show visits or past dealings with article interviews. Most of their cable is contracted from Belden but with nicer cosmetics and...

At low F we use lumped RLC model. However at audio frequencies don't matter as I've stated many times in this thread. Sqrt(l/c) is appropriate.

    New Article Category/Title

"News" doesn't have the same SEO power as "Preview". I did this b/c most of our competitors reviews are more akin to press releases written by the manufacturers. Thus we came up with a new category of article to compete SEO wise will still often offering more meaty content than their so called...

<!--[if gte mso 9]><![endif]--> It seems pretty reasonable from what your saying. Basically any properly designed audio amp is severely bandwidth limited at RF frequencies. Most power amps have a small inductor in series with the output that will normally block any RF from getting in as...

Regarding RF Ingress into an Amplifier [/COLOR] It’s been proposed by some folks on this thread that speaker cables can act as an antenna at radio frequencies and ingress RFI into an audio amplifier. I emailed Emotiva about this topic to get their thoughts since they not only design and...

emp's hooked up and sound great !!!

normally I would agree. But since both the towers and subs lack a bit of extension, they tend to help each other out. Try it both ways and see which you prefer. I installed your very system for my sister in law in a large room and full range was the way to go.

emp's hooked up and sound great !!!

Beautiful installation, great job! I suggest running the E55's fullrange and setting the sub channel XOVER to 80Hz. This will give you lots of bass punch. Don't worry about overdriving the E55s with bass as they are mechanically limited not to bottom out.

I will try to find the time to read this after XMAS. However, there is a difference between RF ingress and amplifier oscillation. This seems to be the case of a not so well designed amplifier oscillating b/c of improper feedback and/or bandwidth limiting, bad shielding, etc.

I just don't see this being an issue on any well designed, bandwidth limited amplifier that has a zobel network on the output stage. Also if the speaker cable is terminated it's even of less of a concern. Now if your dealing with a high gain mic preamp that can be an issue with stability if...

I doubt it but if the book states TL is not an issue then I stand corrected. No bloodbath here just facts. Your math is wrong using the speed of sound. Most consumers don't have even a basic grasp of EE hence why wild eye pseudo science thrives in this industry.
