Emotiva UPA-500 Five Channel Power Amplifier Review
Yea I tend NOT to do that on smaller amps like these. I did do it for 2CH I believe though. Someone buying a $400 amp isn't likely going to be using 5 4-ohm speakers. It's doubtful that amp can meet spec into 4 ohms with all channels driven without using a VARIAC to hold the line voltage...

Emotiva UPA-500 Five Channel Power Amplifier Review
I do full bandwidth tests with 2CH driven something hardly anyone does. It's simply ridiculous to do full bandwidth testing with all channels driven, especially into 4 ohms. 1Khz power sweep makes a lot more sense and its what EVERY review magazine that measures does and it's what we do...

Emotiva XSP-1
All balanced ins and outs, subwoofer L/R and mono with bass management option. $899. Very interesting indeed! The specs look pretty darn comparable to my $4k Marantz Integrated Amp that only has single ended outputs

Classe CT-2300 Stereo Power Amplifier Review
Agreed which is one of the reasons power cube testing really doesn't interest me and hence why so few people even use them. I am trying to get Emotiva to build me a complex load impedance bank so if enough people here chew them out for not building it for me yet, it may happen :) THX is great...

Classe CT-2300 Stereo Power Amplifier Review
I spent many years thinking everything in audio could neatly be measured and quantified. If fact I am pretty anal retentive about this beyond just audio but I am slowly realizing that we don't always get the whole picture from text book measurements & analysis. This is a good topic for an...

Classe CT-2300 Stereo Power Amplifier Review
It's not always that cut and dry. You measure a worst case test signal with a best case test load vs listening to a worst case load on a dynamic and usually less strenuous signal. Measurements do tell a lot but you can't rely solely on them 100% for audio electronics let alone loudspeakers.

Classe CT-2300 Stereo Power Amplifier Review
You will NEVER get 100% correlation between measurements and perceived differences in anything. I use measurements to flesh out product design faults NOT necessarily to declare product superiority. Loudspeakers for example are too complex to sum up and correlate how they will sound in...

Classe CT-2300 Stereo Power Amplifier Review
Yes I do believe I heard differences in upper treble response but I don't have the ability to instantly switch the amps and level match them so I am relying a bit on auditory memory. I will keep testing this though. Don't forget the amp testing is all done through resistive loads so how the...

Classe CT-2300 Stereo Power Amplifier Review
I actually don't care for the cosmetics of the Classe amp I reviewed. I much prefer the look of my Denon and the Pass Labs I am currently reviewing . Yet my opinion of the Classe remains unchanged b/c of appearance. It's a great amp able to drive the most difficult loads that my more powerful...

Classe CT-2300 Stereo Power Amplifier Review
As a person that has designed audio amplifiers and have been reviewing them for over a decade that is NOT a sentiment that I share. Even at low power levels audible differences can be heard between amplifiers if the loudspeaker is revealing enough and the load is difficult. This is especially...

Oppo BDP-103 and BDP-105 Universal Blu-ray Players Preview
I turned in my $4k Denon blu-ray player for a BDP-95 and haven't looked back. I don't miss the reliability issues I had with my Denon nor the sluggish response it had. I do miss the fact that the Denon have every output activated at once and even spit out high res video/audio from both HDMI...

Classe CT-2300 Stereo Power Amplifier Review
Yea I understand your argument but the performance of this amp is quite exceptional. Personally, I would have liked to see "made in Canada" on the back but its hard to find any electronics these days made in the USA, Canada or even Japan for that matter!

SVS SB13-Ultra Subwoofer Contest Review Thread

I feel your pain. My wife is the same way, and I have sensitivity. She can eat Mozzarella but not Ricotta. Take lactaid pills prior to eating cheese and make sure you take probiotics and digestive enzymes regularly.

Yep same here. They cook the pizza at 900 deg so it only takes 90 seconds. I feel like I stepped into Italy and best of all I don't need a 10hr plane flight. Just a 20 min ride to the mall :)
