It is sad, especially when the audio snobby exhibited by some attempt to devalue good performing, honestly priced products. I kinda consider Audioholics.com the police of the industry but it doesn't make us popular at times to do it and it certainly doesn't make us rich either :(

I am a bit more conservative than Roger Russell. I like to error on the side of caution. Use 14/4 if you can as others have suggested here as well. It's close to 10AWG resistance while its also easier to terminate.
