BTW as part of our "Anti-Atmos" campaign, we just uploaded a video on tips to prewiring your Home Theater were we discuss using 14/4 speaker cable in case you want to add Atmos Elevation speakers. http://youtu.be/qlShGXe9AqU

Andrew Robinson: Only Positive Coverage to Save the AV Industry (Agree/Disagree)?

<!--[if gte mso 9]><![endif]--> Hi Andrew, welcome to our forums. I believe your larger point is a bit more than you're leading people to believe. The fact that your website clearly doesn't make revenues off banner ads b/c your site can't generate enough traffic to produce appreciable...

Andrew Robinson: Only Positive Coverage to Save the AV Industry (Agree/Disagree)?

If you're happy with your speakers, who cares about his or anyone's opinion? Consumer Reports slammed the new Lexus IS250AWD but I drive an IS350F and love it :) BTW CR didn't provide any objective measurements on the car but C&D and MotorTrend did and gave the car very favorable reviews...

Andrew Robinson: Only Positive Coverage to Save the AV Industry (Agree/Disagree)?

He puts forth a lot of red herrings and to my knowledge he's never run a high traffic site so he doesn't speak from experience. I could make ALL of our content void of opinion and purely scientific. It would still get the same results SEO wise b/c we have a clue how to get our articles well...

Andrew Robinson: Only Positive Coverage to Save the AV Industry (Agree/Disagree)?

Actually I already said I'd eat my own hat on youtube if the Atmos speakers convince me of discrete elevation. I also plan on measuring them and the HRTF response at the AV receiver end. BTW I just finished a very detailed article about Atmos Enabled speakers with some industry expert feedback...

Andrew Robinson: Only Positive Coverage to Save the AV Industry (Agree/Disagree)?

Andrew Robinson, formerly of Emotiva and now an independent producer, says negative style reporting is hurting the AV industry. He singles us out b/c of our recent critical coverage of Dolby Atmos and basically implies that only positive coverage should be done to save the shrinking and fragile...

Audyssey MultEQ Room Correction Interview With Chris Kyriakakis

I disagree. If you first get all subs to properly sum and level match and then apply a global EQ, you can really improve things. This is NOW how Audyssey does it. It's how Harman's SFM system does it and it works. My experience with MCACC is the same as the poster here, it doesn't do much of...

WHEN DID EVERYTHING GET SO EXPENSIVE?!?!?!?!? kids are expensive ...

Trust me I relate. MY daughers school uniforms were about $1k. Since there are no good public schools in our area I have both of my kids in private and it's costing me about $18-20k/yr. That's more than I spent in 3 years at the University to earn my B.S.E.E. Then when you're looking for a...

Rich just give it another 4-5 years. When Dolby comes out with Gen2 Atmos they will speak how wonderfully better it is than anything before it just like they are speaking about Atmos today compared to Dolby TrueHD a few years ago. If you look at my interview with Dolby on TrueHD back in 2007...

Unless a future iteration of Atmos works on getting sound to project below you ;) I can see it now, speakers on the floor firing up at the listener or perhaps firing down and bouncing off the floor. Anything is possible.

    RBH Sound SX-1212P/R Subwoofer Review

Nice Setup. My advice is to crossover ALL speakers at 80Hz. Run mono bass + LFE to the T2 subs and your 1212/R. Optimize location of the 1212 sub to best blend with the dual 1010s. Level match, and properly set delay to your subs if you have independent control of more than one sub...

I know what your saying, but Yes they are. 2.83V at 1 meter is the standard to measure sensitivity. They are about 2db more efficient than my 8ohm reference bookshelf speakers rated at 88db at 1watt/m. for more info on this topic, read...

5 Reasons Dolby Atmos May Be DOA

I don't know all of the specifics but from the AVR side, I'd imagine it's like anything else they've been doing over the years. You license Atmos you probably get all of the older Dolby tech along with it too. This is the first time for Dolby type speakers in the consumer market as far as I...

5 Reasons Dolby Atmos May Be DOA

My understanding is speaker manufacturers have to pay a licensing fee to brand their speakers as "Atmos Enabled". Hence that might explain why Definitive Technology is charging $500/pr for a 3" paper treated Atmos speaker module. On the flip side, Dolby doesn't make any money if the installer...

This is a great point about the CBT suggested by Dr. Toole. I've spoken to him many times about this. Also as I stated in my first Atmos video, most people have their surrounds on a wall elevated a few feet above ear level making Atmos elevation speakers unusable as they are currently being...

    SVS Ultra Bookshelf Speakers Review

You should be ok. Onkyo's have pretty meaty amp section and the Ultra's are very efficient. Keep it running cool as everyone suggested here. Also you should use 80Hz if you have a powered sub. Let the sub handle the low frequencies especially since you have a very good one.
