OmniMount RE18 Pre-Built AV Rack Review

No matter how simple or complex, expensive or cheap, or big or small your AV setup is, you need a place to store the equipment. While AV racks are great, many people forgo them because of cost and complexity. The OmniMount RE18 addresses those problems. For only $599 (MSRP), you get a...

Spyro Gyra: Breakout (1986) LP Review

Breakout is my favorite Spyro Gyra release (followed closely by Freetime) of the 1980's. This is also my first (exclusive) LP vinyl review as I didn't really start buying CD's (or own a CD player) until 1987. Breakout was (and still is) proof that great production values have the ability to...

Denon AVR-X7200WA Atmos/DTS:X AV Receiver Review

Given the choice of updating an already good Pre/Pro just to get the "latest and greatest" over a new car, I know what my choice would be! Get the leather package!

Denon AVR-X7200WA Atmos/DTS:X AV Receiver Review

Yes the "chip" is only part of the story. I'm more concerned about the analog components, layout, etc. Why do you feel the need to keep upgrading? Sounds like you've got good gear already.

It could be a server failure. If anyone has a contact to ADMIN over there, please drop them a note. I don't know anyone at that place unfortunately.

Denon AVR-X7200WA Atmos/DTS:X AV Receiver Review

I'm not sure about that. The DAC section of the AV8802 is a significant step up from the 7200 receiver. I'd say it would be pretty close and certainly a cost savings. However, I'd just wait for the 8802 to become discontinued and get it as a discount if you really aren't planning on using any...

Denon AVR-X7200WA Atmos/DTS:X AV Receiver Review

Unfortunately we can't bench test every product we cover and I am not in the same location as Theo so I couldn't simply take his review unit and bench test it. Based on what the 5200W did on the bench, its VERY safe to assume the 7200W will at least meet and most likely exceed it. Denon...

RBH Sound Wireless and Beryllium Headphones Set New Industry Benchmark

Yes electrical tape or your thumb to cover the ports. Not sure about the 598 vs 598SE. I did measure the HD600s which looks pretty similar though I used a cup instead of Mr. Bob. http://www.audioholics.com/headphone-reviews/sennheiser-hd-600-headphone-review

RBH Sound Wireless and Beryllium Headphones Set New Industry Benchmark

Here is a quick and dirty way to measure over the ear headphones using a foam head at a Michael's which is a crafts store. Let's call him Mr. Bob. See the graphs comparing the new RBH HP-2 to the Sennheiser HD598SE. The sensitivity of the Sennheiser is about 7dB lower than the HP-2. For those...

Apple To Ditch 3.5-mm Headphone Jack on Future iPhone?

Apple iPhone S6 and S6 Plus users are complaining about their phones 3.5-mm headphone jacks failing. Meanwhile speculation is circulating that Apple may do away with the standard connector altogether in future iterations of the iPhone, starting with iPhone 7. Where does that leave all those...

RBH Sound Wireless and Beryllium Headphones Set New Industry Benchmark

Now that I have a pair of HP-2s in for review, I'd like to take time to do formal comparisons. Upon initial listening I felt the HP-2s sounded more lively than my Oppo PM-1s and Sennheiser HD600s. They are also lighter weight and more efficient. It doesn't take away from the Oppo or Sennheisers...

2015 Audioholics Product of the Year Award Winners

I recommend saving your pennies and going for either a discounted Yamaha CX-A5000 or the new AV7702 from Marantz if you want Atmos. Emotiva should have some new pre/pros coming next year as they have a hole in their lineup without a more cost effective solution right now.
