    The Bill of NON-rights

Thank you. That is what I was going to say, but you beat me to it. I also don't get the insistence on showing respect for irrational, outmoded beliefs. If somebody wears a foil hat as "protection from alien thought-rays", do you respect that? I don't: I think they are stark raving nuts and...

    $3000 and sound like $%&#$

I agree. I can see having some issues, but no way is quietness one of those issues!:p

    The Bill of NON-rights

The word "should" applies to the option being available. All options should be available. Those who are opposed to a particular option have every right not to choose it for themselves, but no right to deny it to others. Anything goes between consenting adults, provided that it does not hurt...

    The Bill of NON-rights

Yes, very definitely! If I am ever sick enough that I have no quality of life and won't recover, I certainly hope there is a doctor who will legally assist my suicide. That option should be universally available.

    Monster THX speakers

Regardless of the quality of their products, nobody should buy anything from Monster. They are an evil company. Their latest insane lawsuit is against a miniature golf course, of all things!!:mad:

    Really a difference?

Both well put and correct. There is zero audible difference between a competently designed entry-level CD player or amplifier an a megabuck unit. (This is not an opinion: it has been proven many times in double-blind tests.) Speakers do make a difference (and it can be a big one), but even...

    The Bill of NON-rights

    Absolutely correct.

    The Bill of NON-rights

Extremely well put. Those who choose to follow a particular religion are bound by the moral codes of that religion. Those who are nonreligious or have different beliefs are not bound by those same moral codes! Perhaps those who insist on shoving their noses into other people's business (where it...

    The Bill of NON-rights

When someone is born gay, their choices are either to have gay sex or not have sex at all. For them, the opposite sex is as much of a turnoff as the same sex is to those of us who are straight. Could you go your whole life without having sex at all? I didn't think so! No, it is really not a choice

Any one ever hear AAD's ?

Not only have I not heard them, I have not even heard of them (and I have been in the audio hobby for over 30 years!)

Thank you, thank you. Y'all are a great audience! No applause, only money.:p

    The Bill of NON-rights

Re Article XI: http://freethought.mbdojo.com/foundingfathers.html Article II is most commonly forgotten by right-wingers, who constantly express shock and dismay at those who voice liberal ideas. The rest I pretty much agree with.

    Who are you missing?

I certainly have no reason to miss him at all! (He is fine, though, since I still see new posts by him over at AVS.)

    Obama Wins

I seriously considered moving to Canada when Bush was reelected, because it seemed that America had gone completely insane. Now we are back on the right track. Glad the American people have finally come to their senses and made the right choice!:)

    I Voted!

I left work early because I heard about the long lines, then I got in and out in about 5 minutes. The right man won!

Best new pair of bookshelfs $250 shipped can buy

They haven't changed internally at all. Only the cosmetic design of the front baffles and grilles are different, as far as I know.

Best new pair of bookshelfs $250 shipped can buy

The deal on the iQ3s is just insane! They were $900/pr when they were released in 2006, and now they are down to $280. I have considered a pair for myself, just because it is such a rare opportunity (I already have fantastic speakers, though.)

What is the best pair of bookshelf speakers for $1000?

Cambridge Audio S30s are absolutely stunning, and only 1/4 of your budget! Their only limitation is bass, which you don't care about. In all other respects, they are as good as (in most cases better than) any other bookshelves I have heard up to $1500/pr (and I have heard a huge variety.)

    buying new speakers (part 2)

Since you said "a new AV system", I am assuming you have one now? Since surrounds are really not critical at all (they only provide directional cues), and since a decent sub will work equally well with any speakers, I would suggest putting the entire budget into the mains and center. This will...
