Buc; Rather than firing the sub driver at the listening area, try firing it towards the back wall and see if it further smooths out bass response. Its a good trick that can sometimes help.

Glad to hear that. I absolutely loath the sound of electric drums from the 80s to early 90s. It sounded like crap then and sounds even worse now IMO.

I am not sure what you mean by the "same lines" as the older RBH subs. RBH is not a direct to consumer retailer and thus not a direct competitor of HSU/SVS. Their new subs will be very impressive to say the least. But I cannot get into any further details until the official press release.

The 1266 has a separate enclosure for the mids/tweets and is about the same volume as a 661-SE/R, though the 661-SE/R is a ported design and a bit more efficienct since it isn't padded down to match sensitivity of the 12" side firing woofer.

If you are setting up a home theater system, I would suggest going with 661-SE/R's with 2 subs over 1266-SE/R's. It is difficult to properly integrate a full range speaker such as a 1266 with additional subs. The reason most people don't think a good bookshelf speaker with subs can compete...

I am not sure about a 15% price increase but I did hear they are increasing their prices very soon. It has been two years since their last price sheet was released and rumor has it they are about to launch some additional product upgrades in different models.
