Try setting HDMI to HDMI to "Through" on the RX-Z7 and see if that fixes it. Also don't use 480i on your Oppo. I noticed when I use 480i on my Denon DVD player into the Z7, I sometimes get no picture. I believe its a microvision thing and I sent an email to Yamaha about it.

The test data seems pretty comparible with the Z7 being more powerful in 8 ohms and 2700 more powerful in 4 ohms. This is likely due to test and product variances. 20 watt difference represents about 0.3dB difference in loudness. No operational issues that I observed. Try it as is for now...
